So this is an old topic, but what about Slytherin Percy? Like he's just that loyal to his family, and literally he doesn't care much about the bigger picture, but more about those he loved closest. In the Titan's curse he disregarded all of his orders and just left and followed the hunters, he picked a fight with Ares because he endangered his family and friends, he has such a hard time accepting Luke because of his betrayal, and also because he hurt Annabeth. Percy's also pretty damn ruthless..
…when he wants to be. I guess it’s a pretty unpopular opinion, and he could very well be a Hufflepuff or a Gryffindor, but I guess that’s just my opinion.
I am not getting into this discussion again (check out my pjo!hp tag for my opinions) but this is a good analysis
So i had an idea and i shared it with @bananannabeth on my other blog so if you recognize it that’s why. The idea was a witch and Poseidon had a child and she was sent to Hogwarts. I made an own character, set in the second year of the cursed child.
Haliae was wondering the halls looking for her two slytherin friends, Albus and Scorpius but of course she couldn’t find them anywhere. Typical.
“Damn it I bet they’re in their common room...” She muttered to herself. “But how do i get in..? I know.” A grin spread cross her face which was never a good sign. Last time that happened she was on a quest with her friends, they had been cornered by a cyclops and she decided to tickle him, they got out alive but one of her friends had stabbed it while she was tickling him and she ended up leaving with gold dust all over her. It wasn’t worth it.
Haliae ran down to the hufflepuff common rooms and found some parchment, she scribbled a message over it and used a charm that made it water proof, This was gonna be good.
Haliae ran all the way to the lake and jumped in, anyone else would have screamed because of the cold or the fact that they might’ve been attacked by a mermaid but not Haliae. She scared the mermaids, She tried to become friends with them and she guessed she came on too strong because they swam away really fast, or they were confused on the fact a small 11 year old was talking and breathing underwater. Oh well.
Before she knew it she was in front of the slytherin common room, she loved the fact that they had a huge window into the lake. She pressed her face against the glass and looked around the common room. She waved at a scared looking slytherin and grabbed the now water proof scroll out of her pocket and pointed to it, It read “Have you seen Albus and Scorpius?” She smiled but the slytherin ran away. How rude.
She was there for about five minutes before she saw Albus and Scorpius walked out of a dorm room and saw her.
“You’re kidding me.” Albus sighed and shook his head.
“Oh my-” Scorpius was laughing his socks off.
“Oh no. Scorpius look!” Albus pointed at the window and Scorpius stopped laughing and a look of dread replaced the smile
“Oh no.”
Haliae looked behind her curiously
“why are they pointing?” she thought, She came face to face with the giant squid. OH SCHIST!
Haliae panicked and when she panics water around her goes crazy! A small tornado formed around her as she began the control the water to get her out of the lake.
Thankfully she was fast enough to get out of the lake, she willed herself dry and shook her head. She sighed and ran back to the castle to meet Albus and Scorpius out side their common room.
When she arrived they had just left the dungeons.
“What were you thinking?” Scorpius asked, He had a towel in his hand.
“I needed your potions notes, And i don’t need the towel but thanks for the thought, Scorp.” She smiled as both the boys sighed.
Right I just thought of this crossover thing for Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. The Slytherins common room is built by the lake right? So I assume it has a big window looking into the lake and one day something happens and Poseidon has a kid with a witch and the kid wants to get their Slytherin friend out of the common room so they just jump into the lake and float down to the window, freaking everyone out in the process and the Slytherin friend is just like "AGAIN?! DONT DEMIGODS HAVE OWLS?!"
this is amazing and hilarious, imagine a demigod with their face pressed up against the glass trying to peer into the common room, tapping on it to get everyone’s attention and the magical kid just face palms
Percy doesn’t want Annabeth to disappear into Ravenclaw Tower
+
Jason is obviously Quidditch captain for Gryffindor.
Piper is top at Charms.
Rachel thinks Divination is a terribly taught subject but has a natural knack for it and essentially ignores the entire syllabus and just teaches herself.
Clarisse pushed Percy and Annabeth into the lake one time when they were making out distracted. She got a week’s worth of detention but maintains that it was worth it.
Annabeth loves the aesthetic of writing with quills but uses pens because practicality will always win out.
Frank and Percy try for ages to learn how to become Animagi. Frank will eventually succeed, Percy will end up in the hospital wing for a few weeks.
Hazel is one the most naturally gifted witches Hogwarts has ever seen.
In his spare time Leo builds new animated statues and dots them around the school, waiting to see how long it takes for people to notice them. Some are booby trapped. Those are his favourites.
What would happen if a Roman or Greek god had a child with a wizard? Would this kid go to a wizarding school or go to one of the camps? Would they be entirely safe from monsters in the wizarding world, or can monsters somehow sneak in? Could this kid use their magic to kill these monsters? I dunno I just got this idea and needed to share with someone
Whoa what a hypothetical.
I suppose it would depend on how their powers manifested? Like if the demigod aspect was stronger than the magical side of it, or vice versa?
I think the magical blood would probably win out, maybe? But then maybe their demigod-ness could increase their strength with certain spell sets, depending on their heritage.
And as for monsters getting in to the magical world… I really don’t know? I like to think that the schools would be relatively safe (even with all the shit that went down at Hogwarts) but the magical world in general, I think, probably wouldn’t be any safer than the muggle world??
This is a very good question, anon, and I’m really sorry I haven’t been able to provide concrete answers/opinions.
Merry Christmas to @salazar-is-a-fluffy-bunny from your @pjosecretsanta!!! i hope you enjoy this HP AU fic and are having the merriest of holiday seasons :D
Jason was used to seeing the Great Hall packed full of students, the four house tables crowded with friends and acquaintances shouting to be heard over the general din. He liked it when it was busy and slightly chaotic - it was what he was used to, and having that many people talking at once meant that he never had to work to keep a conversation going. Now, however… Now the Great Hall was empty.
Everyone had gone home for Christmas. Everyone.
Okay, that was a slight exaggeration. But only a slight one! Practically everyone had left. Percy and Annabeth had gone back to Sally and Paul’s for Christmas, Leo and Frank had both gone home to their mums, most of Gryffindor house had left him… Even Thalia had gone away for the break, on an impromptu road trip with her girlfriends.
The only one left was Reyna, and she was avoiding Jason after she’d come to the awkward realisation that he was aware of her crush on him. She’d come back around after a few days, once she’d cooled off enough to let their friendship settle back into normalcy, but for now Jason was alone.
He took a seat at the very end of the single table in the middle of the hall and prodded his dinner sadly. What a way to spend Christmas Eve. He was considering skipping the food and heading up to bed to re-read Quidditch Through the Ages when the doors opened, and all thoughts of leaving disappeared from Jason’s head.
A girl in baggy jeans and a ski jacket stepped inside, pulling a beanie off her head to reveal choppy, dark hair that fell just past her shoulders. She shivered, as though shaking off the cold from outside, and scanned the room. When her eyes landed on Jason they widened in surprise. He couldn’t decide what colour they were, which he decided would be his excuse when she inevitably asked him why he was staring at her.
“Down to one table?” she asked.
Jason went into autopilot. “Yeah, they’ve downsized for the holidays.”
“As if it wasn’t sad enough as it was,” she said, and while the words were scathing she smiled around them.
He laughed lightly. “Ha, yeah.”
She slid onto the bench beside him and a plate appeared in front of her. She stabbed a broccoli and pointed it at Jason. “I know you. You’re Jason, right? Gryffindor Quidditch Captain?”
“Yeah, that’s me.” He felt more than a bit chuffed that she recognised him, but then felt dumb for that: everyone knew him. He was Gryffindor Quidditch Captain, even the first years knew who he was. Percy was the only one more famous than him.
He searched the girl’s face, trying to recall a name or a time where they’d bumped into each other in the halls. None came to mind. He was sure he would have remembered if he’d seen a face as beautiful as hers before.
She noticed his searching gaze and her smile got a little sharper. “I’m Piper.”
“Piper,” he repeated. “Nice to meet you.”
She ate the broccoli before replying, “So why are you stuck here for the holidays, Jason?”
“No family to go back to,” he said simply. It wasn’t a lie - his dad was busy being Minister for Magic, and his mum was long gone, and this year he felt like he’d rather spend Christmas alone than with his childhood nanny, Lupa. Piper didn’t need to know all that though. “How about you?”
“Same,” she said. “Well, I mean, I have a family. But Dad’s on a press tour, so here I am.”
“Press tour?”
She scrunched her face up, annoyed. “Yeah,” she said simply, not offering an explanation.
Jason decided not to press the matter. “Well. Cheers to that.”
When he raised his goblet she grinned and lifted her own to clink against it. “Cheers.”
“It’s too cold for this, come on!” Jason called from the middle of the Quidditch pitch, where he was hovering above a thick layer of snow. “I seriously think my nose is about to drop off.”
“Aren’t you meant to love this stuff?” Piper yelled from a few yards in front of him. “Everyone says you knew how to fly before you knew how to walk -”
He flew forward a bit, chasing her in lazy circles through the softly falling flurries of snow.
She wasn’t wrong: Jason did love flying. He loved it more than anything in the world, the feeling of absolute freedom it gave him. His control in the air was unparalleled, and normally he would have given anything to be flying around a deserted pitch with a pretty girl - but not when it was so cold he was losing feeling in his extremities.
When he caught Piper’s eye he grinned. “Everyone says that, do they?”
She smiled wickedly. “Oh, yeah. They say you’re way clumsier on your feet, always running into stuff, knocking yourself out.”
His grin dropped. “Hey, that’s not - I don’t -”
She laughed and flew right by him, putting on a small burst of speed. “Are you blushing, or is it the cold?”
“It’s the cold! It’s definitely the cold!”
Her laugh sounded very far away, most of it caught in the wind before it could reach his ears. He chased the sound, keeping her in sight through the fog.
“Piper, come on, seriously, we should head in. McGonagall will be out looking for us any minute -”
Piper appeared suddenly in front of him, shooting up from below. Jason skidded sideways in the air to avoid running right into her. “She’s your head of house, you could definitely sweet talk her out of punishing us for being out after curfew.”
“You either have more charm than me-” He smiled crookedly at her faux modest shrug. “- Or you’ve obviously never gotten in trouble with McGonagall before.”
Piper laughed again, throwing her head back so the bobble on her beanie bounced. “Au contraire, I’ve been in trouble with McGonagall plenty of times. Not the most fun.”
“So you know we definitely shouldn’t risk it now.”
“Are you always such a stickler for the rules?” She raised an eyebrow but began her descent anyway.
Jason followed slowly, shrugging one shoulder. His ear was so cold that it actually stung when the fabric of his jacket hit his lobe. “I try to stay out of trouble, mostly.”
“Why? Gunning for Head Boy?” Piper’s tone was teasing, but when he didn’t answer she gasped, genuinely surprised. “You are! Well, I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. You do seem the type.”
Jason decided not to be offended by that. “What about you? You could be my Head Girl.”
Piper scrunched her face up and shook her head. “No way, everyone knows Annabeth’s got that in the bag.”
They landed on the snow and began trudging back to the castle. “You know Annabeth?”
“Yeah, she can be insufferable, but we’re friends. Do you know her?”
Piper looked genuinely surprised when he nodded. Jason made a mental note to ask Annabeth about Piper as soon as she got back.
“Yeah, we’re about the same.”
“Mhmm, you are a bit insufferable,” Piper teased, knocking her elbow into his.
He rolled his eyes as they stepped into the Entrance Hall, which was warm enough to practically be sauna compared to outside. “Oh, what a comedian. Funny and beautiful, you’re the whole package.”
It was only when Piper stopped walking that Jason realised what he’d said. His whole face flushed, uncomfortably warm after the chilly Winter air, and his hands flew up, waving about in his eagerness to appease her. “That is, I mean -”
“You think I’m beautiful?” Piper said quietly, eyes locked on his.
He decided there was nothing for it now, and nodded. “Yeah. Yeah, I think you’re - you’re very pretty. And you’re a pretty good flyer, too, and funny - I already said that one, but, you know -”
Piper silenced him by pressing a quick, chaste kiss to his chapped lips. It was fleeting, but her lips were soft and she tasted like strawberries, and Jason felt an amazing thrill run along every single nerve in his body.
When she stepped back he gaped at her, dumbfounded. Wordlessly, she pointed up, and he saw that they’d stopped under mistletoe. Of course.
“You’re an all right flyer, too,” she said, licking her lips.
“I… uh, thanks?”
“I’ll see you back here tomorrow morning, right?” she said, already half turning away.
Jason wanted to grab her and hold her close, but his arms remained stuck at his sides. “Y-yeah, sure. For Christmas breakfast.”
“Christmas breakfast,” she said, grinning. “That sounds great. See you then, Jason. Sweet dreams.”
“Bye, Piper,” he said quietly, lamely waving at her as she disappeared down towards the dungeons. “Sweet dreams.”
Once again, Jason was left alone on Christmas Eve - but now it was with the promise that he’d be spending Christmas Day with Piper. So as he walked back up to Gryffindor Tower he felt lighter than he had in a long time, and found himself wishing for the arrival of Christmas morning with more anticipation than he’d had since he was three.
