One thing that I find messed up about Minos is that he never gets punished.

Like what??? Like you're telling me that Minos was out there driven kids so crazy to their death, AND MANLPULATING NICO, and Hades did nothing about it.

Not just that, he WORKED WITH KRONOS FOR A BIT. YOU'RE TELLING ME NICO DIDN'T TELL HIM, "Hey dad, that guy that's literally a judge for you was completely okay with helping Kronos and killing gods knows how many kids. Don't you think you should maybe,I don't know, do something about it???"

Like did he have a contract or something, I see no reason why that man is still in such a position. I'm sorry???

I can't remember why he was placed as a judge, but wtf???

You're literally known for making sure no one escapes punishment, but Minos is fine and dandy.

And we know he has to be somewhat aware because instead of giving Deadelus a severe punishment he gave him a job that he probably knew the guy would enjoy.

dude yeah it's WILD. greek mythology zeus impregnates anything that moves, so you'd think there'd still be a lot of his kids in percy jackson, right? WELL-

in the pjo universe, zeus, poseidon, and hades made a pact to have no more kids after WWII because WWII was essentially fought by all their kids (because, yeah, they fucked everything that moved). so after the war, they made the no kids pact because 1) their offspring were too powerful and unpredictable 2) they didn't want a kid powerful enough to overthrow them and 3) a prophecy foretold that a child of the Big Three would decide the fate of olympus.

by the time pjo starts around 2006, both poseidon and zeus have broken their oath (poseidon with percy, zeus with two kids) and hades... has not but he has two (three eventually) kids anyway which is a whole thing and the series kind of revolves around the prophecy that one of them has to decide the fate of olympus when they turn 16.

I started listening to the lightining thief musical and...it's not bad, it's just really exposition heavy, too much for my liking.

I've only seen the first Percy Jackson movie and that was many years ago so I need a reminder, Hades played a big part?? And if so, what is he like? I mean in mythology he's not really evil, but most stories paint him as the big villain, so I'm curious

tbh the book and the movie have many differences and I can't remember all of them bc I haven't watched the movie in like a literal decade, BUT hades is kind of planted as the main bad guy for the lighting thief. so yeah, he plays kind of a big part because the first book is percy trying to reach the underworld to confront hades.

hades isn't really a bad guy though. it's easy to point fingers at him and call him a villain based on his nature alone, but mostly he's just tired. and pretty bitter towards the olympian council for banishing him to the underworld. in the pjo universe he does try to kill percy a few times, but honestly most of the gods have so he's not really an outlier there lmao.
