demigods as mortal teenagers (pt. 2)
- annabeth likes learning, but she hates the set-up of schools. she can't concentrate well. if someone is whispering, her concentration automatically transfers to the person whispering instead of the teacher. she's thought of switching to online schooling but because of her hectic family life, she doesn't think it'll work out.
- the only class annabeth really likes during school is pottery. in the class, the teacher demonstrates how to make the piece in front of the class, and then they attempt to recreate it. the teacher walks around and helps anyone who needs asistance. annabeth likes that the teacher requires all the students' pieces to have something different about them than the demonstrated piece, and the teacher grades it partially by this.
- annabeth met percy in her pottery class. it was his first time taking the pottery class. after the first few weeks of learning the basics, percy could make pottery well. he jokingly mentioned that his piece could get a better grade than annabeth's, but she took it too serious. annabeth bet that if she won, percy would have to do whatever she wanted him to do, if percy won, vice versa. percy won by one point. the teacher loved the wave pattern he carved into his piece. annabeth was devastated. when percy saw annabeth's piece, he was immediately awestruck. annabeth carved a greek city into her pottery. instead of bragging percy cherished annabeth's piece. to try and cheer her up, he invited her to the beach with him. she asked "is it a date?" and he said "yeah, but only if you want it to be," and she told him she did. they started dating a few weeks after.
- she works at a small library. she was hired around the age of 13; she's friends with the librarian. they became friends over the years, annabeth started coming to the library when she was 8. she didn't like being home. the librarian, caroline asked annabeth if she wanted the job when her last employee stopped showing up to work. caroline trusts annabeth, afterall they have a friendship of about 7 yrs.
- annabeth loves working at the library. she has to do random tasks, but some of her more important ones are reading to kids and helping them pick out books. her favorite part of the job is helping kids like her find books for school. she often recommends books like harry potter and divergent. she has empathy for the children she works with. caroline loves how well annaneth completes her job.
- annabeth loves to read, but the book has to be something she's interested in, like architecture, greek cities, mythology, or fantasy genre of fiction novels.
- annabeth likes weaving. she was inspired by caroline; she weaved a beautiful sweater that annabeth loved. caroline taught annabeth the basics and if annabeth needed anymore help she looked on YouTube. so far she made a few pairs of socks, a beanie, a sweater, and a blanket.
- contrary to popular belief, annabeth is fond of most animals. one time annabeth took percy on a date to the local shelter to play with the animals. they both had fun.
- annabeth is on her school's track team. it calms her if something is wrong, often times she bolts out the door running.
- annabeth likes drawing greek architecture, and is obsessed with the parthenon in athens. she begged her father to take her, and he surprised annabeth with a vacation there for her 16th birthday.
- annabeth decided to take a sewing class to fix some of her clothes. thalia was at the class. annabeth was confused when she saw her; punk 18 yr olds normally don't like to sew. she decided to start a conversation with thalia. she told her she wanted to learn how to sew patches onto her leather jacket. annabeth asked why her mom wouldn't teacher her. thalia wouldn't answer. annabeth apologized for asking, but then thalia broke down and told her "my mother isn't an actual mother. she's a crazy, unstable, alcoholic." annabeth has empathy for thalia because she also has a bad family life. the two quickly became friends.
