I've been thinking about the creation of clones in the DCA and I've said before that all clones are made biologically female due to the fact that Iris wants clones that can easily be used for breeding/collecting eggs to use for more clones. But you know what would be interesting? The concept of clones not so much as being born, but rather being made.

Iris doesn't breed most clones like X-23 or the Cuckoos, she spends days using stolen powers to knit bone and flesh together by hand, to melt skin on like porcelain and to form hard ribs out of metal before finally tying it all together and making her creations more human. To easy to maim and claim.

K I've decided that Peach is deaf. There isn't any point in having a breeding mule and sex slave if she can't hear instructions and no one is certainly going to take the time to do BSL with her.

Peach became deaf after one of her fellow mules's powers went AWOL and damaged her ears to complete deafness. Iris took her back and gave her more volatile powers to serve as a guard dog for Dae since his powers are more suited for long term killing.

This wasn't her usual testing spot but Iris liked to think that she was someone who could adapt to any setting and this setting just so happened to be her precious Fish's tank. But the Fish wasn't the focus, it was the Shadow that had caught Iris's...well iris.

The aged woman found herself leaning forward eagerly, her eyes catching the reflection of the Shadow but not it's usual glow. Strange, she'd have to study the exact "spiritual" properties of the Shadow's mutation and see what she could compare it to. Speaking of, it was time to give it another check up and to see if it had calmed down yet.

The little thing had been so angry when Iris told "Rhys" that she wanted to make "him" her new focus. It had clawed and kicked at Merajo before Iris had commanded the Skrull to pick the frail thing up and slam it's head against the wall. Then she had made do with her Fish's bathroom by setting up some breathing and feeding tubes on the Shadow, ensuring that it's powers were hers' and dunking the little thing into the Fish's water, where the Fish was allowed to play about with it's food.

"Well, taken some breaths, have we?" Iris asked softly when Merajo raised the Shadow back into the air, her arms stretched out and encasing the pale thing completely. The Shadow was a mess of wet long hair tangling up and getting caught with the tubes that were currently inserted into the Shadow. Her reflective eyes seemed to glint in amusement and impatience. "We'll have to cut it's hair Merajo, and find it's breeders, I need to see and study more of the genetic structures. Starting with parental dissection and perhaps digging up that sister the Diamond told us about?"

She was practically rambling to herself because the Fish and Merajo couldn't give her answers unless demanded and the Shadow...well, Iris hadn't exactly been listening to it. Though, there were still hopes of getting somehting good out of such a frail vessel.

"Now, before I have that mane cut, I was wondering how you feel on forcible tattoos? See, your body...it needs are carvings into it and I'm sure my Shadow will be thrilled to match "his" Diamond, yes?" It was said as a laugh, a joke that Rhys had the capacity to think he was a person and anything more.

After tonight, "he'd" never have those thoughts again.

"Sounds like life's been unfair to you Dear." Iris smiled, knowing that people could often be unsettled by her reflective eyes. She'd certainly been gifted with a case here, a girl who easily gave away the hardships of her life at the slightest piece of pity. Iris found it pathetic but it was good for business, especially when Merajo found out that this girl was close with many heroes. Emotional and selfish, was a rare combination.

Iris passed along a cup of tea, tilting her head and giving a cold smile. "Well! Dear, it seems that what drives people away is that ugly mutation of yours along with the fact that you cling like nothing else. I'm sorry if it stings but it's true!" Now was the time to make an offer and Iris leaned in, cupping her hands together and beaming. "Enough of your little pity party. What if I explained a solution where you could both gain a normal appearance and finally become able to keep this mysterious man close? All at the cost of telling me a small piece of information."

Iris knew suckers like this girl would always fall for this kind of promise, the idea that they'd finally be normal enough for love of any kind. It almost made her laugh if it didn't mean she'd have a business. Ava knew that first hand after all.
