It’s not as though she doesn’t smell him approaching. As the human gets closer to the enclosure, Delta is already looking his way, her amber eyes trained on him intently. It isn’t a scent she recognizes. Usually she recognizes those who approach. Usually it’s a select group of humans that interact with her, but this one... It’s different.

For a long moment, the velociraptor merely stares the man down, watching his movements carefully. She’s curious, honestly. Soon enough, her head lifts and cocks to one side, rather like a curious bird. A few strong inhales through her nostrils bring in more of the human’s scent, and she takes a few small steps toward the bars of the enclosure, an interested rumble in the back of her throat.

Seth smiled at the way Priest spoke. So flustered. So fucking adorable. Two hands encase Priest’s face and he kisses the human’s forehead. As far as Seth was concerned, they were already married, just without the certificate.

“I love you.” obviously, “Marrying you would be the greatest honour of my life.” Cut the cheesiness, Seth! “I would love to call you my husband, I’d love for the world to know you’re mine.”

And for Bridge to, but that’s another story.

okay i had a weird dream last night and I’m gonna tell you about it cause Seth was in it.

So, it took place at like. four-AM? Idk it was late in the dream. And Seth was outside getting into a scuffle with some monsters like not humanoid monsters, but actual monsters. I think there was a giant crab, or something? But I guess it was outside Bridge’s townhouse or something, because Bridge came out after everything was defeated (and the bodies faded, like a videogame or smthn) and he and Seth got into an argument, AS THEY DO, and basically Bridge was insisting that Seth ‘can’t keep doing this shit’ and getting himself unnecessarily hurt because Priest couldn’t handle it if he lost Seth bUT the big bad boss was coming, they both knew, and Seth was the only one who could kill it for some reason?? but like he knew that in order to do so he had to sacrifice himself and he was willing to do so cause the monsters were only there to go after Priest

sO, lmao, he grabs Bridge and smooches him to give him his blessing like 'i really fucking hate you, but i’m imprinting my lips onto yours so when you kiss Priest it’s like he’s still kissing me instead'and he started to head off towards the big boss that was slooooowly getting closer in the distance, all ominous and intimidating at 4am.

but then Priest came out, looking all sleep-ruffled and exhausted as he rubbed sleep out of an eye, wearin’ a too-big sweater and messy hair and some hickeys Seth left on him

and he picked up what was going on because, c'mon, it’s not hard to guess when your boyfriend is in a fighting stance, paused in going in the direction of a creepy monster.

But Priest immediately wakes up further and hurries over to Seth and is begging him not to, that he doesn’t have to do it, omg then he tries to run to the boss to beat him up himself but Seth has to grab him and wrap his arms around him to keep him from doing so and just

he makes Bridge hold Priest back and promises to return and then kisses him all hard and passionate and then goes off as Priest just, whomp, erupts into tears

and as soon as Seth initiates a fight they all just fade—

and then i woke up but how it would go if it were real would be this—

days go by, weeks, months, and all the while Priest waits dutifully, leaving the door unlocked at night, checking out the window every so often and he’s just waiting and he’s so lonely

and then finally one day Seth comes back and he’s not alone anymore

/and there’s lots of “holy shit i missed you i’m so glad you’re back and okay” sex and crying on Priest’s end and just lots and lots of relief

I heard Priest went ahead and killed himself

That wasn’t true. That couldn’t be. Seth would have seen it. Right? Wouldn’t he have seen the death of the one he loves the post? Surely the universe wasn’t that cruel? But it was. If Seth’s past has taught him anything it was that very thing. The universe was evil. After all, evil backwards is live. 

Seth pursed his lips and looked to the ground. Closing his eyes the reaper took in a few deep breaths that came out shallow. He tried to feel it. Death. He tried to sense the death around him. But he was too distracted. His emotions were tugging him in every direction. He didn’t know what to do. He didn’t know what he was meant to do. How could he even believe a stranger without questioning them? This could be pathetic gossip. 

Looking at the grey face once again Seth sniffled. He shook his head, at first slowly then his head built in momentum. This couldn’t be. “How could… but….” he knew that he hadn’t ‘fixed’ Priest. He knew Priest still occasionally felt down. He also knew that ‘down’ was a euphemism. But did he truly feel that awful? Even with Seth did he still not want to live?

It didn’t add up. The things Priest has said in the past… the way he explained his feelings… how was it possible?  Could Priest have been lying? It didn’t feel that way. It had felt real. With a frown he shook his head.

“Prove it.” it was almost a growl, “Show me. Take me to him.” he stepped closer to the grey face, “Where is he?! Take me to him! Now! Prove it!”
