byler gates - 2025 edition

keeping track of all this year's gates in real time

januarygate (all of january) - being convinced that we'll get a teaser in january.

pastagate/rigatonigate (jan 2nd) - noah posted a picture of a door with 'rigatoni' written on it. everyone decided rigatoni was will's new love interest. [similar to mikhailgate]

lobegate (jan 7th) - a byler was going around sending fake mileven asks to other bylers. in one of them they accidentally wrote 'lobe' instead of 'love'. this incident + the quest to search for their identity has been dubbed lobegate. (update: full list of possible lobe anons by @sykatz)

promgate (jan 10th) - this post explains it in full but tldr @lyricallyxo was directing a production of the prom on jan 10th (at 7pm est) and we all tried to get byler to trend for it.

plaguegate (jan 17th/18th) - honestly i was asleep while most of this went down so here's a post by @mrincrediblyblind explaining it.

blankgate (jan 26th/27th) - the account atlantaspotting on twitter posted a thread about a bunch of st cast drama, but they replaced everyone's names with 'blank' so everyone just made a meme out of it. here's a link to screenshots of the thread (post by @udkmehahaha).

Okay, behold my glorious idea

We are currently in a new gate. One very similar to lobegate. It is called plaguegate

I have proposed a Gate Cinematic Universe (inspired by the likes of marvel) in the comment section of a post and it was met with positive reception so here it is. And the GCU essentially would be the name for referring to the lore gates like lobegate

Currently in it are the events Lobegate, Crayongate, Plaguegate, and Cancelmarsgate. And all the previous silly gates that have been mentioned, like mikhailgate or miniongate

Lobegate acts as the first "movie"

Plaguegate is the sequel. One I've titled (I did not come up with the name plaguegate) "Plaguegate: Return of the MMM"

Crayongate was a spin off TV show that bombed and got canceled after the pilot

Cancelmarsgate is the spin off TV show that only hardcore fans know about. The fans are either anyways recommending it out of love of the franchise or are really snobby about it like in a "you're not a real fan of you haven't seen this" way

All the silly gates that have been references are from books that the gcu is based on

Here is a thought I had at 2 am: Stranger Things itself in the gcu universe is a fanfic written by the duffers. It is like the ATYD of the GCU fandom. Again 2 am

PLAGUEGATE LORE SO FAR

So i might have accidentally started a cult of some sort. People lee asking what’s happening so here’s a complete run down of everything so far

Yesterday(Jan 17) I decided to pint my draws blue and yellow for the #blue and yellow brainrot tag. I then went on to make this post

my arm is intact stained yellow.

The replies to this were very funny

later that afternoon, i was on the bus to go to the train station when I got an anonymous ask (the first image)

the second image was the second one i got when i was out at dinner

18th of Jan, today

I’m sitting in my room, reading my spider-man comic when my phone blew up with asks(read post)

when i asked about it, @byler-endgayme came to my rescue as of our similar/same timezone, confirming they too had gotten an ask

suspect list (read post)

We suspect there to be multiple people behind this plague, on of which revealing themselves to be “Dr M.J.T.D” standing for Mileven Jake The Dog (yeah, the bald yellow dog from adventure time)

Lore will be updated, for now, this is plaguegate, @tripleatechie suspects it to be Lobegate all over again

Bald mike nation, it's me, orlastarburst.

As you can hopefully hear, I am not infected right now.

You're probably really confused as I was giving secret codes and messages, not even hours ago, making you believe I was a soldier for the MMM, and for a while í ẃ᧠- - sorry , but I managed to fight off the virus, and you're probably wondering why?

To simplify it, the MMM were stalking me, they sent me messages, watched my house, and ate my trash (I can't prove this, but trust me). At first I didn't realise what was going on,,, before it was too late.

They got my brother first.

They tried to recruit him, and he declined.

They didn't like that.

He-he was so brave. . . God. .

They- - They infected him, turned him into that THING

I knew something was wrong, they cut my Internet, so I didn't get @dynamicccsworld 's warning. I didn't know.

*car honk in distance*

I locked my brother in the basement where we played D&D, I had to save him.

I contacted the MMM and they proposed a deal.

I save my brother, but in return. . . . I take his place and help spread the disease for the queen

I lied to you guys.

I posted as normal, I commented on byler posts, but slowly, I was turning into one of them.

The MMM kept their promise, my brother came back the next evening. But I was gone.

I told him to run, to get to Lovers Lake, and find help. I haven't heard from him since.

*car screeching*

The longer I was infected, the more I started to lose my mind (and bald). I couldn't talk, I could only oɓəy, and I did.

But something was different, I noticed I wasn't like the other infected, I still had a conscience.

My head was an internal battle, one half, my core byler, trying to fight of the MMM and the other half being a hopeless blank static.

It went on like that for a while, but soon, a new voice started to appear. He said his name was Professor Green.

At first, he spoke only in letters, the words lost in the void of my mind, but soon, I could hear what he was saying. He was repeating one sentence;

"Do you want to be my friend?"

*static*

He helped me a lot-

*glitch*

And He will help you.

*car beeping and swerve sound*

I- - I don't have much time but LISTEN to me.

You - *car noises get louder* you need to get to the arcade, that's where professor green is. He knows how to stop this-

*cars constantly honking*

I-It's it's LOVERS LAKE, all the byler truth has been gathered in the waters, it's pure byler shipping energy. IT repels the MMM, and is - as far as I know - the only safe place in Hawkins.

But they were one step ahead of us.

They told me about it when I was still fully infected, so I can't remember most of it

But i do remember that - - the MMM are building something, a weapon.

They're going to unleash it on judgement day, the 7th day.
