Here's a bit more of advice, don't put off sending queries because of the season. Some agents get even MORE work done in summer BECAUSE other people are on vacation, some agents don't celebrate holidays, some agents are workaholics. Worst case scenario is that it'll sit in their inbox but guess what when they DO get to it, they will normally go in the order received and they'll reply to yours first.

You'll get a lot of those, where it doesn't seem like they read it at all. I've had them respond within 60 seconds with a form rejection. And I think it's good, you don't want them as an agent anyway. As you go along, you'll only keep track of the no's to remember you sent and got a response from that person. Each one is a stepping stone to that yes and trust me, you're gonna need a lot of stones. Good luck!
Thanks! I had the advantage(?) of entering the job market during the height of the great recession, which it turns out developed in me a thick skin for impersonal rejection. Fortunately this time, I’m not going to starve if I don’t get a yes soon.
Querying is nerve wracking but honestly so are the steps even that come after signing, enjoy the highs, the fear, the excitement, and remember to never give up during the lows. It'll happen! -- I also sincerely hope the farmhouse you live in is featured in one of your stories, it sounds awesome~
