Peru is testing my patience: First it took hours to cross the border, then it took an hour to be checked into a hotel and even at the airport there are some complications: Before entering the flight, I am being asked to check if my baggage fits in a metal frame to determine the size of the bag. Since it doesn't fit in, I am being asked to pay a baggage fee of 50€. 'I will be right back', I say. After 20 minutes I stand in front of the gate again, this time wearing 3 t-shirts, 3 pullovers, 3 pants and a jacket. It is 31°, the room is filled with passengers and I am sweating like crazy, the people around me and some securities are amused as I hammer my backpack into the metal frame until it fits in while looking like an Eskimo on a sunny day and thereby avoiding to pay the fee. More complications: Inside the airplane two women are asked to leave the flight for security reasons. They refuse to be escorted out. After half an hour they half-heartedly leave the plane.
