Send "mistletoe" for our muses to get caught under mistletoe!
@planetarii asked: mistletoe william and langris or die
❛ And then I verified the reports Yuno's and Alecdora's teams submitted last night, so you don't have to worry about those anymore- ❜ The ease and calm with which Langris speaks to the Captain is beyond unimaginable for any other soul vying for or hiding from his hawkish presence, and so is the soft, considerate smile authentically plastered on his visage when they continue taking a leisure stroll through the garden, slowly but steadily heading towards the Golden Dawn headquarters' main entrance.
No sooner do their matching pairs of boots clink on the spotless tiles inside the building that Langris' object of interest shifts from William to an unidentified item he happens to catch a glimpse of through the corner of his eyes, and his mind rapidly comes to a deeply unfortunate (for everyone involved) understanding of the situation at hand. He shoots the new "decorations" a proper glance without attracting much attention to them, and although on any other day he may have boldly ordered his squad members to take the fruits of their hard labor off of what seems to be every door in their vicinity, huffing and puffing in irritation all the while at the childish sight that no doubt has encroached on their already limited work time, today is a different day.
Today, Langris was not supposed to come in to work at all. Today was supposed to be one of his very few days off, a rarity that might as well only happen once or twice per year, and his smile twitches imperceptibly at the acknowledgement of the fact. Today he wasn't supposed to accompany William to work, and so these damned hounds thought it wise to test their luck and attempt to steal a kiss, whether it may have been on the lips or on their cheeks, from his boyfriend behind his back.
The vice-captain's expression remains unchanged, if only slightly more strained than it had been moments prior, a dangerous cold anger brewing in his veins as he pretends to be none the wiser to their squad mates' hiding spot, smiling only in the general direction of the group scurried behind a door after what he assumes to have been their one and only smart decision of the day. He doesn't bother bringing this fact to William's ears though, and instead a fleeting, icy gaze glosses over his hidden colleagues, the murderous intent behind it kept successfully at bay in order to not give cause of concern to the man accompanying him.
Rather than making a fuss (which William would surely have to intervene in once the accused stepped out of their hiding spots), Langris simply continues treading towards the nearest door, that of William's office, while abstaining from gritting his teeth or clenching his jaw. A commendable feat for one with his quick temper, truly. He feigns confusion at the sight of mistletoe dangling from the top of William's door when they chance upon it, and after another pretense he laughs softly, amusedly at the surprise, as if the two of them were indeed the only people present in the main hall. And that is going to be the truth, lest the last shred of self-preservation his colleagues may have had left when their braincells did.
❛ Oh, wow. ❜ A breathy exclamation morphs into a chuckle and the heir focuses on the object looming over them for a few seconds longer before he glances towards William inquisitively yet humorously, well-aware that his boyfriend would never entertain a game such as this one inside the headquarters - nor anywhere else outside of maybe his own house, for that matter. ❛ Did you put this up, William? I don't think I've ever seen you purchase mistletoes. ❜ A triple punch meant for the hidden squad members.
The usage of their Captain's first name in a private settling, signaling the intimate aspects of his and Langris' relationship that none of them can hope to achieve for as long as the vice-captain remains alive; the insinuation that enough of their time off is spent together to make such a purchase seem amiss in the heir's eyes; and lastly... ❛ Well... since it's here anyway, we might as well make the most of it, no? ❜ And with that he raises a hand to gently guide William's face towards his own in one smooth movement, the ease hinting at it having been done plenty of times before, and Langris delicately presses their lips together, lingering to both savor the moment and enjoy the taste while simultaneously making certain that none of the bastards lurking in the shadows can ignore the reality happening in front of them any longer.
That is, the reality of William belonging to him, and him alone. ❛ Haha. I don't think I'll ever get bored of kissing you... but we should head inside now. I didn't manage to check the entire pile of documents last night, so we still need to finish those before starting on the ones that must've come in today. ❜ A truth sprinkled into what is assuredly an open wound for the others by now once the captain and vice-captain's lips part and slowly return to their own personal spaces, and it is then that Langris carefully leads William inside the office to get started on their respective tasks, a hand resting on his boyfriend's back as he glares one last time at the corner in which the others stand frozen, warning them against acting on any more of their idiotic ideas.
...He will need to keep an eye out for mistletoes the entire day, won't he?
Send “What was your first impression of me?” and my muse will describe what they thought about yours, immediately after they first really interacted.
@planetarii asked: "What was your first impression of me?" you already know im going to say william and langris
❛ What a strange question... ❜ The vice-captain mutters softly, and he wonders where this question may have come from at such a random moment of their day. Still, William is well-known for being quite the giver of surprises (both positive and negative, much to their dismay) and so Langris supposes he ought to simply go along with the other's flow. ❛ I used to mainly pay attention to other people's strength levels at the time, so I'm afraid that's all I reviewed you on during the first week or so. That said, you were clearly one of the better captains, and one of the few... no, the only one I was willing to be subservient to and work under. And as you can see, that hasn't changed to this day. If you ask me, I doubt it'll change anytime soon either. ❜
A pause, and Langris makes an effort to remember every detail of their first few meetings - a demanding task, considering his previous disregard for other people's lives - but doable, since this is William they're talking about; perhaps the only person the Vaude heir has always paid at least some amount of attention to from the very start. ❛ If you'd also like to know my first impression on your personality... forgive me for saying it, but I thought you were much too lenient, and much too kind. I viewed the ease with which you forgave our mages' failures and the sympathy you felt for everyone despite them not deserving it as a liability that was bound to slow us down, but... I suppose I was wrong in that regard. ❜ A rare admission of his failures, a sign of vulnerability that only William has ever been granted the right to be privy to.
It's downright ironic, in hindsight, that the primary reason behind Langris' decision to open up towards his now-lover is the very kindness he used to consider worthless. How strange, to think that if William had reshaped his personality based on the advice he'd received on this front, Langris would have never grown comfortable enough in his presence to rely on him in any way, much less to feel the sheer fondness and adoration he presently does. ❛ You've always been amazing, William. Both as a mage and as a person. I've simply been too full of myself to notice the latter, back then. ❜
*; @planetarii » starter call ❤ for Arene!
When she heard about Arene picking another fight, Hibiscus was ready for the worst... patching up the Sankta in the medical bay who - by the looks of it - faced an opponent with a blade as sharp as his tongue, Hibiscus could only sigh. Still- Arene’s skills were nothing to sneeze at either. He might have only suffered a few cuts and bruises, but Hibiscus did not want to see the other guy...
─── ❝ Next time you insult someone, please make sure they are unarmed and do not carry a weapon about twice the size as your own... You’re going to worry me to death, Arene! ❞
A quirked eyebrow is given in response, the aegir studying the other's expression with a careful gaze. Of course, he wasn't naïve enough to expect a pleasant response to the slight goading he had provided, nor did he expect a particularly strong reaction at all ... Nevertheless! "That isn't it, exactly." He replies with a gentle hum, Mizuki leaning back further into one of the dormitory-provided chairs.
"More-so, it's that ... The Doctor told me I should do my best to integrate with others when I can. Isn't multiplayer games the best way to do that?" Even behind that innocent tone, Mizuki certainly knows what he's doing by invoking their name here. "Is my selection not interesting to you? We can go old-school and pull out some board games too, if that's your preference."

Langris clearly doesn’t partake in any sort of preferential treatment idk what you’re talking about

abatina : is there anything in life your muse has changed their mind about over time ( due to becoming more educated on the topic , certain experiences , etc . ) , or that they would change their mind about under certain circumstances ?
Generally, Langris holds very firm opinions & isn’t exactly prone to change. However, William has managed to slightly change his mind about peasants ( before, he didn’t find any worth in their lives whatsoever, so he didn’t bother protecting them if it proved to be too much of a hassle --- as shown when he opted to sacrifice the hostages in Kiten; now though, while Langris still isn’t completely sold on the idea, he has slowly started to see William’s point, or at least is actively attempting to --- if any more hostages were to be held at this point in time, he would try his hardest to save them, even if it proved to be a hassle and a half ).
gladiolus : describe a moment from your muse’s life that they will never forget .
Finral’s leave. For the majority of his childhood until then, Langris believed that Finral’s presence in his life was a given, no matter how toxic their dynamic would get or how terribly their parents would act towards him. He also believed that, if Finral could prove himself to them later on, their parents might start warming up to him as well & allow them to have at least a semblance of a normal brotherhood.
With that in mind, Langris never surmised that Finral would run away from the Vaude household, so he didn’t think much of it when he didn’t see Finral in the house one day. “Maybe he’s goofing around in the city, or he's holled himself up in his room” were his instant thoughts. He also didn’t pay it any mind when Finral didn’t come down from his room for dinner nor breakfast --- their parents were acting as usual, so nothing prompted Langris to believe otherwise; at best, he thought that Finral might’ve received yet another harsh scolding from their parents & was crying about it in his room, and at worst, he thought they might’ve forbid him from having dinner that night & breakfast the next morning.
Langris kept repeating his daily routine for another day or two, waking up - studying - training - sleeping, until he became irritated at how weak-willed Finral could be to hide himself in his room for so long instead of face Langris and their parents with his chin up. That was when Langris decided to use his free time to knock on Finral’s door & open it when he didn’t receive any answer, only to find the room completely empty, as if it hadn’t been used in quite some time. Confused and slightly alarmed, Langris quickly asked his parents about it, only to receive a very nonchalant “Finral has ran away, he is no longer a part of our family, so you should forget about him”.
❛ We finished the paperwork faster than usual ... It’s still rather late, but it’d be a shame to miss out on an opportunity like this, so why don’t we have dinner in town for a change ? ❜
