The Sun is considered a "planet" in reference to Magickal Works.

The sun is considered a planet with almost all planetary/astronomical/magickal association literature I've read, and I've been practicing since 1999. That's a lot of literature, and here are a few of the books in my library that associate the sun as such:

Everyday Sun Magic: Spells & Rituals for Radiant Living by Dorothy Morrison

Llewellyn's Complete Book of Astrology: The Easy Way to Learn Astrology by Kris Brandt Riske

And even Raymond Buckland's Complete Book of Witchcraft associates the sun as a planet when using in in a magickal sense. He refers to the Sun as a planet, and associates it with magick for healing, protection, legal matters.

Yes, astronomically speaking, the Sun is in fact, a star. But, when we use magick, the planets in our solar system are considered one in the same with the Sun, as it was for thousands of years before human beings realized the benefits of science beyond our own planet. These celestial bodies were considered the same thing by our ancestors following these ancient paths we today also follow. 

This is such a minute thing to critique-- maybe those who wish to critique my posts should make use of their paper and hard-bound books from long renowned and well respected authors and practitioners of this beautiful thing called "The Craft" as well as remember that we are all here to learn and educate, not berate others among us so that we feel that we are better than others. Our newest members should see the love and beauty that those of us who are more educated in the use of the Mother's energies felt when we were welcomed with open minds and hearts.
