Planktivorous Sharks Are Delightfully Awkward And It’s Awesome
@up-sideand-down so, that post about the whale shark and the giant manta ray swimming next to each other made me want to google whale sharks and I ran across...these:
(For those who need to know: the first is a Basking Shark and the second is a Whale Shark, viewed from the most hilariously awkward front-facing angle possible)
Also Megamouths are the only other known extant Planktivorous (plankton-eating) shark and it’s freaking...omg. Just...look at this poor goofy thing:
(SeaPics has a bunch of stock photos of this weirdo here btw; I’d show you some choice ones from their archive, but they actually state on their website that they professionally license their photos so I can’t reproduce it without permission...but rest assured there’s some wonderfully awkward ones)
tldr planktivorous sharks are kinda hilarious and kinda awkward and I kinda love ‘em
