Cheap flying
What is the best way to buy cheap airline tickets? Cutting back on your travel costs is certainly profitable, because it involves relatively large amounts, so every cut is extra hard. In other words: optimizing your travel budget. The most beautiful trips, already earned with savings elsewhere, in the most inexpensive way. That is double the win, but it is a matter of smart choice. Here are the tips.
Flash sales for cheap airline tickets
In technical terms it is called Flash sales. Dirt cheap tickets. You never actually see them in the newspaper and on TV and that's because everyone would think that those are the normal prices. And the airlines don't want that. They can be booked a few (two to seven) days before departure. So no early bird discount, but just filling up empty seats for a bargain price. The best way is to actively look for it yourself. Check the airline's website every few days. If you want to leave within now and three months, this is the cheapest way. Unfortunately, the tickets get even cheaper after the next round.
Limit your choice
There are so many sites and offers. It is better to search on a few good sites such as D-Reizen, Cheap tickets and a number of foreign sites and therefore the sites of the airlines. Compare them with each other and that's how you book your own candy trips. It's not free, but it can't get any cheaper.
Fly app
Most airlines these days have an app. With this you can check in, but also arrange a cheap upgrade of your flight. You can also keep an eye on the delays. You can also follow KLM on Facebook. There you will find even more interesting information.
Those last minutes are more expensive
Except for charter flights, most scheduled services are more expensive just before departure. The airlines collectively stop with the last minute offers in order to keep prices artificially high. Yet they want the chairs full, so look for those bargains, because they are there. About twelve days before departure, many prices are fixed or even very much more expensive (sometimes 250 euros more expensive). So in some places you can find cheap tickets and in other places you pay the main price just before departure. That is to serve the entire market: people who opt for comfort and have enough money or people who are forced to leave book the expensive flights just before departure and the currants forage for the Flash sales.
Fly on Tuesday
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday are the cheapest days to fly. The weekend is expensive. We all want to leave for the weekend and the airlines know that. June, July, August and Christmas are the most expensive months because of the holidays and school holidays.
Booking costs of 60 euros on top of your ticket price
Does the price you see on your screen include or exclude booking costs? You hope inclusive, otherwise you just pay 50 to 70 euros extra in booking costs. The Dutch also charge the top prize for payments with credit cards. In the U.S. it's free, so book your trip smartly with an American travel agency. Ideal is completely ideal, because it is free.
You think that switching with the same airline will be cheaper... Wrong!
It is sometimes better to fly on with a reliable budget airline. Certainly outside of Europe: you can fly to Bangkok and continue there cheaper locally with, for example, a local airline like Easyjet (air Asia). Everything is more expensive in Europe. If you book through those cheaper oriental airlines, you can also take a look around Bangkok.
Luggage costs of 60 euros
Luggage costs can add up. The employees of some budget airlines even receive a premium if they 'caught' travelers with too many kilos of overweight. A kilo of excess weight in your luggage is already ten euros extra. Your hand luggage will also be checked extra.
Book cheap travel through foreign companies
If you really want to book a bit cheaper when you fly to the East, take a look at the sites of the United Emirates, Qatar and the like in the Middle East. Belgium is cheap if you can fly via Antwerp or Brussels with KLM and, for example, Joker.be.
Finally
It's still a good search. But once it's done, it becomes a sport to get from A to B so efficiently. Cheap flights exist and can seriously compete with train and car travel. The advantage is that you are there quickly. Handy if you have to return the same day. Travel lightly packed, then you pay nothing and you can go through all the gates in no time. Good trip.
How to Survive Online Courses
Hey guys!
The world is currently in a freeze because of COVID-19 and most of us, including myself, have to participate in online classes. So I thought I would give everyone some tips on how to survive online classes.
Create a Schedule
Online classes are mostly self-paced. Since we have no one to remind us to work, we tend to fall off the rail of productivity and into the hole of our phones. Now, remember, you don't have to work on schoolwork every day if you don't want to. Self-quarantine is supposed to be a time for you to focus on your mental health, which is extremely important due to the circumstances. Just create a general or specific outline of a routine you can stick to. It doesn't have to full of productive things, at least 3 productivity things.
For example:
10:00 am - wake up
12:00 pm - start school work
2:00 pm - lunch break
3:00 pm - resume school work
5:00 pm - relax!
Take breaks!
You sit in a classroom 7 hours a day before quarantine. This can be exhausting sometimes. Often a study break is good since it reduces the chances of burnouts. Breaks can also provide your brain with time to retain the data you have learned. When your brain gets a break, stress can be reduced and concentration and productivity increased.
Make a calendar!
Everyone procrastinates sometimes in their life; having a calendar can keep you in check. Planning can help you structure your personal and school life. You can plan physically or digitally (click here if you want to know how I plan digitally ;) Make sure you have assignment due dates, projects, and test days.
Dress for success
Personally, I feel really good and productive when I'm wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Sometime, I'd rather chill in sweatpants and a bun, but someday, I like to look presentable and be effective. Something as quick and easy as a little makeup and jeans can help boost your productivity.
Set a study space and eliminate distractions
Just like dressing for success, the environment in which you study/work can affect your productivity. Quiet space, away from everyone, can help to put you in a productive mood. Eliminating distractions will also help you focus on your work, not everyone else. However, there is no need for your environment to be silent. If you want to put on music or a TV show for background noise, make sure you're not distracted by that. Silent your phone and turn it over to make sure you don't look at every time a notification pops up.
Healthy snacks
Okay, let's be honest, we all want to glow up. Munching on chips and unhealthy food is not going to help you get to that goal. you snack sometimes because you're bored or you want to get away from studying but you don't want to admit that. That is okay! If you need a break it doesn't mean you aren't productive! Take the time to take a quick 15-minute walk or snack on something healthy like fruits.
Reward yourself!
After a whole day of hard work, reward yourself! It always seems easier to motivate ourselves when we know there's something waiting for us on the finish line. Watch a movie or a couple of episodes of your favorite TV show. If you're just doing your homework, you're going to get burned out.
For example, if I finish this essay, I get to watch an episode of All American.

Extra useful tips for saving money in and around the house
Putting on a warm jacket when you go outside when it snows is quite normal. You want to be nice and warm, don't you. Your body is your home they say. This way you can also treat your real house. So put on a thick coat. In other words, isolate. In the past, the houses were divided into smaller rooms. You had the separate kitchen. The sliding doors to divide the living room. And more doors than now. This made every room smaller and easier to heat. Now it's very different: large lofts with high ceilings and converted halls. The heat will blow right up to the ridge of your converted church. In your beautiful house, the steam from the moist air you exhale hardly diminishes as you stoke your arm. The open kitchen must also be kept warm. In short: all those modern living trends are not very heating-cost friendly. What else can you do yourself in and around your house next to all those connecting doors to push down living costs? Here are new tips for saving.
Economical at home thanks to power strip with switch
Remove the plugs from the sockets. And really turn off all devices. Do not leave it on standby. Buy a power strip with a switch. Click and you make a profit. It saves 100 euros per year (500 kWh).
Stop wasting water
Leaking taps and unnecessary running of the tap while brushing your teeth saves thirty liters of water (which is becoming more and more expensive) per tooth brushing.
More saving tips
Let hot soup cool outside the fridge for tomorrow. That gives extra heat and your refrigerator does not have to work overtime to cool the hot leftovers. So double return. Conversely, you let frozen products thaw in the refrigerator. So in the morning already from the freezer to the fridge. This way you help to keep your refrigerator cool.
Smarter and cheaper charging
Your laptop and your petty crumb thief mini vacuumcleaner are also getting harder and harder to charge. That also costs energy. So read the manual on how to best handle these devices.
Defrost your freezer a little more often
Also defrost the freezer compartment of your refrigerator from time to time, because the ice layer ensures a lower freezing capacity of the freezer compartment and therefore higher energy consumption. Some expensive refrigerators already have no-frost regulation themselves. The defrosting then takes place automatically. A better refrigerator can be a good investment anyway. Because the better energy labels save tens of euros. A refrigerator with the best energy label saves 750 euros over its entire lifespan.
Clothes rack instead of dryer
if possible You can dry your laundry on a rack in the garden or on the balcony, because the dryers use by far the most energy. The gas-fired dryer is a bit more economical. You also have dryers that measure how damp your laundry is. They then stop on time. Also saves.
Hang your laundry outside and iron dry is also good
Iron dry is also less expensive than bone dry. All that moisture also comes back into your house, so you have to burn more to heat up that heavy moist air. Make sure to clean your fluff filter very regularly. This prevents fire hazards and the device lasts longer.
Use the eco button on all your devices
An eco program on your dishwasher is also useful. You save energy and water. If it comes out neat and clean, that's fine.
Immediately teach new desired behavior together
Teach yourself and your roommates to close doors behind you, turn off unnecessary lights, use water economically, and make aware of all costs associated with living.
Shopping for building materials in the neighborhood
All the stuff and renovation materials that you buy to decorate and improve your home are pretty pricey. You can remove wood, windows, floors, ironwork and insulation material from other renovations. You can also walk in at a renovation to ask if they are getting rid of more beautiful things.
Finally
Creativity is the gift and talent to constantly parry new situations. To come up with solutions for a changing environment. To respond flexibly to change. To row with the oars you have. Creativity is adapting. It is a survival mechanism that prehistoric man used to make a roof of leaves and branches and to tie a fishing net from rope. Now you use that primal power to optimize your living situation.
Free, cheap and economical on your laptop
Being frugal and doing everything as cheaply as possible is a necessity for many. In addition to welfare mothers, you will now also find real estate agents in suits at the food bank. All saving tips are therefore welcome. Here are some tips and tricks to keep your computer affordable. Also pay attention to your internet contract, because often, strangely enough, you pay too much as a loyal customer. Transferring then yields quite a lot of profit, and an additional advantage: saving more money and often also faster internet. Here are more tips and tricks
Free software
A lot of software is free and meets most requirements. Photo, video and audio editing software are fine. Pay attention to which site you download it from, because often you get an unwanted browser with it, which you can remove from your computer with the greatest possible effort. The antivirus software is also good, especially from Windows itself. But also look around for alternatives. Just take a look at the reviews to choose the best software and version. Free safety Just turn off the computer completely when you're not using it. Nobody can then break in and it also saves 35 euros a year in energy.
Save big on ink
If you print in black ink, it is cheaper than colored ink. You have to set that: "only use black ink". Then immediately opt for fast printing (sometimes also called concept printing). It is still legible, but cheaper, because ink is expensive. You can also save 25% by printing in, for example, Times New Roman instead of Arial. And smaller letters of course.
Save on paper and cartridge
You can also save on paper. Two-sided printing of course and if a print fails, just use the back. Or on the back of letters. You can also buy the counterfeit cartridge. Then you are about 75% cheaper. The result is reasonable, but not everyone is equally satisfied with it.
Earn money with recycling
Smart business guys collect the old cartridges through a recycling program in computer stores. They fill the boxes with old cartridges in containers and ship them to China. Heating costs for sea transport from Rotterdam to China: two million euros.
Hypodermic Needles in China
In China, the old cartridges are all refilled with India ink by Chinese cheap workers with a hypodermic needle.
Fat profit
Because a lot of cartridges fit in a container and because a lot of containers fit on a ship, a relatively low price compared to the original cartridges is enough to make a big profit.
Mimicking the Chinese
Because you can also buy a hypodermic needle at a drugstore or a pharmacy and buy the same Indian ink from the office supply store, which is injected into the cartridges in China, the cheapest way to inject your old cartridge yourself is.
Speed up your old computer cheaply
You can buy a new computer and it is expensive. You can also opt for extra memory and a faster hard drive. That way you have almost the same result.
Conclusion
One saving tip yields much more money than the other. It all adds up to even more. Sometimes it's just a matter of learning or just doing it. If it saves you extra money without noticing, you can immediately add that to your capital.
Economical and comfortable in your own home thanks to saving tips
Economical and comfortable in your own home thanks to saving tips Cold hands and cold feet, and of course a cold wind chill for your whole body. Those are the main reasons for turning on the heating, kerosene or gas stove, or to throw another log into the fireplace. Such a block of wood can still be found now and then, but the heating costs for the central heating system quickly rise (on average 94 euros per month). So save money in these difficult times for many people. Here are the golden tips and tricks.
Put on a scarf and sweater at home
Why does the old nobility wear those chokers and scarves around his or her neck. That is from the time when they lived in big cold castles. You lose eighty percent (!) of your body heat through your head. Logical, because heat rises. So your neck is a big heat leak. If you wear a collar there with a scarf, it makes a huge difference in heat loss and you don't have to heat nearly as high to feel very comfortable. A nightcap Even more effect, for the same reason, is to put on a (night) cap at home.
Do you have visitors or do you feel uncomfortable?
Then only do it when you are alone. Just put on a nice warm hat. Are you cold because you spent too long in front of the laptop? Go change the bed or do the dishes. Three birds with one stone. The movement makes your blood flow faster again and that ensures warmer limbs. The dishes are done immediately and your hands are nice and warm from the washing up water. ah warm feet Warm feet is also a very nice and comfortable experience if you heat a little lower. Invest in very thick thermal socks and insoles. Buy your shoes one size larger and have them close above the ankle as well. This way you can fit two pairs of socks and an insole and the (fake) fur-lined inside will do the rest.
Buy your warm shoes a size too big
Due to the size larger, there is also an extra layer of still air that provides extra insulation. And your fur layer stays a little more intact. This way the insulating effect of your shoes remains optimal. Every now and then a new insole because by walking a lot you kick the air out and they work less. Also note that the thickness of the soles is reasonable to very thick. All the cold from the floors can't get to your nice warm feet. Therefore, sheep not only have their fur to keep warm, but also hooves. This keeps them high and dry above the cold ground.
Put on a wool sweater
A sheep wool sweater is also very warm. Especially if there is still a thermos shirt and a shirt underneath. The air layers between all the different textile layers provide the extra insulation. A bit like the layer of air between double glazing. They also use this trick in the military. Homeless people and Elfstedentocht riders do it too. But then with newspapers under the sweater.
We wash away 7000 liters of drinking water per year
Replace your old taps and shower heads with water-saving variants. Your water consumption can be reduced by a third. On average a saving of 35 liters per person per day. New toilet bowls have a selector button or flush interruption for the six liters of flushing precious drinking water. With older cisterns you can easily buy a flush interrupter for five to eight euros. That saves no less than 7000 liters of drinking water on an annual basis. The plants get old-fashioned water from the rain barrel The rain barrel under the gutter is great for rinsing and watering the garden.
Instead of having the sprinkler on all day, you can also water the plants with the watering can.
Matt black radiators on your roof for free hot water
It is completely cheap to paint a few old radiators from demolition matt black and place them on your roof. The sun heats up the water because of the black color. And so you have free hot water. Be careful with Salmonella. Connect the radiators to your shower and you will save another 50 percent here. Showering is cheaper Showering is better than taking a bath. A bath is 150 liters of warm water. Showering costs much less (50 liters) and it saves 3000 liters on an annual basis. You will lose your hot shower water. If you have a camping shower where you let a thick black plastic bag heat up in the sun during the day, you can take a hot shower in the evening for free.
If you do the same principle with black radiators on your roof, it will go completely smoothly. Because you don't have to lug that bag around anymore.
Black garden hose in a container with glass on it gets boiling hot
You can also achieve the same result with a coiled black garden hose (or two connected black garden hoses) in an insulated container that is closed with a glass plate or transparent perspex plate. Then the water is really boiling hot. When it comes out of the hose. Be careful with Salmonella.
And last but not least The point is that you don't just take the tips for information.
If you don't do anything with the tips, it won't yield much. Just a little awareness. That's a good thing, because it ensures that you pay more attention in other areas and make more conscious choices.
That will lead to improvement sooner or later if all goes well. But why wait until late when you can start now. That also saves a lot of money. So use these tips to live efficiently, free, cheap, effective, profitable, sustainable, cozy and cozy.
How I Plan Out my Week | Digital + Physical | Pt. 1
Hey! So today marks the first day online school start for me, which really isn’t much of a different since the coursers are self-paced.
For the past few weeks, the only thing that I have kept me feeling productive was planning. I absolutely love planing and it makes me feel like I am actually doing something.
I plan two ways, digitally and physically. I will show you how I plan digitally first and if you guys want me to show you how I plan physically, let me know! (by messaging me)
The program I use is Google Calendar! The program is free and completely on a website, no need to download. There is also an app for IOS and google play store.
1. Divide them up!
I have different calendars for each “section” of my life. Emily, birthdays, blogs, education, health, and reminders.
Emily: Doctors appointment, chores like laundry, reminding me to watch a movie, and a schedule to let me know who is in town and who I need to hang out with.
Birthdays: Pretty self explainable, birthdays of my family and friends.
Blogs: Reminders of when I need to upload a blog or post a new blog.
Education: My class schedule and reminders of due dates. I also like to put when I need to do my Coursera courses.
Health: When I need to workout, what kind of workouts, and time scheduled for reading.
Reminders: Basically a reminder for everything. Reminders fit into every section like a reminder for when a book’s due or when I need to start cancel a subscription.
2. Color code!
Color coding is so helpful if you want to see what your day is like. Make sure each color is different from another. What I mean by this is education can’t be mint green if health is light blue. The tone’s are very similar and your eyes will probably look over it.
3. Time Batching
Time batching is a technique for time management. It is where you group all the events related to a section. For example, in my day I have three things i need to do, school work, workout, go on a walk. Going on a walk and workout are related to health while school work is related to education.
time batching:
work on school work, workout, go on a walk.
not time batching:
workout, work on school work, go on a walk.
Time batching is very helpful because it allows you to focus on similar without having to switch to another task that is not related to your last one. This gives you more time to do the work and not waste it on catching up.
How to Use Google Calendar!
To create an event, press the plus button or c. In this you can edit the time and many more things.
You can add a description, choose what calendar you want it to be in, and add a notification time. For my workouts, I usually add the link of the workout and plan what I want to do for that workout.
To edit an event, click on the event you want to edit and click the pencil button or press e.
You can do many things on Google Calendar, just play around with it!
