Plant Spirit Connection

Spring is in full swing and the time has come for the plant kingdom to reign supreme once again. The veil that separates the world of the green ones and our own is thin, making it a perfect time to reach out and meet some new allies.

Spend some time in nature today or with a plant that you have been wanting to spiritually connect with.

Reach out with your Consciousness and find the vibration of the plant/ environment and then allow it to harmonize with your own.

When you feel the energy become harmonious with your own, ask that it reveal to you the spirit associated with that vibration.

Allow the presents to manifest in your mind's eye and then proceeded to introduce yourself and discuss you related magical goals. When you are finished, make an offering of milk and honey to the spirit.

"Healthy Soil" Garden Spell

All gardeners want their plants to be healthy, abundant, and gorgeous. In order to achieve that, a lot of work has to happen. However, there’s nothing wrong with a little magick to help things along!

A good garden begins with good soil. In fact, good soil is the single most important aspect of any successful garden, its very foundation. The better your soil, the stronger and healthier your plants will be, and the more able to withstand pests and diseases.

This is a spell to ensure that the soil in your garden is healthy, nutritious, and absolutely right for whatever you plan to plant.

Materials:

A pot filled with soil

A green candle

Pen or pencil

Paper

A small heatproof container, or a length of aluminium foil

Matches, or a lighter

A spoon

Using your pen and paper, make a list of everything you intend to plant in your garden. Be as specific as possible.

The reason for this is that magick in itself is a neutral force, and thus needs firm and directed guidance in order to work most effectively. This means that if you know the exact variety of tomato you’ll be planting, that’s what you’ll write on your list. If you haven’t decided on the exact variety, then write “cherry tomato”, “slicing tomato” or whatever type you want to grow.

Light your candle, and place the pot of soil next to it. Gaze into the soil, and visualize it glowing with healthy, vibrant life. Then say the following three times:

This is the soil of my garden,

Full of life,

Ready to nourish.

Next, take the piece of paper containing your list, saying:

These are the seeds and plants that will join with the soil.

Then, read your list out loud.

After you have read your list out loud, use the flame of the candle to burn it, being careful that the flames and ashes remain safely in your container or on your length of aluminum foil.

When your list has burned completely, pour the ashes onto the soil, and thoroughly stir them into it with the spoon, while repeating the following at least three times:

The soil of my garden

Holds and feeds

The plants and seeds

Which in time will feed

The soil of my garden.

Finally, take the pot to your garden and pour the soil and ashes in one of your beds.

Plant Bonding Quick Tip #3

Remember the hair trick I discussed, here?

Here is a method that takes the hair trick a little further. I find this to be a great way to deepen the bonding experienced that occurs with the first bonding tip. 

Get yourself a container to water your plants with. Fill the container with either water or compost tea. Take three strands of your hair and place them in the water. Stir the container several times. Visualize/think/feel your personal energy from your hair leaking into the water. 

At this stage, you could alter your intentions to fit your specific bonding needs. 

Going away for a while? Do this with the intent of leaving a comforting energy for your plants to remember you by. You can also do this before leaving for work or school. 

Wish to help them regain some strength after some poor health? Lend them strength through your strands. 

Water your plants with this mixture to help hydrate them with your personal energy and intent attached. 

Why do this? 

As mentioned in the first plant bonding quick tip, hair can help a plant get used to your energy, feel comforted by the presence of your energy even when you’re gone, or to help a plant decide how it feels about you. 

By doing this in the water, you can allow the plant to actually soak up the energy and intent. They get to sit in the water and drink it up. 

If you ever get the feeling one of your plants does not like this (perhaps you get a feeling of general discomfort when you go to water them), simply water them with regular water, and perhaps see if they are comfortable with you leaving a strand behind for them to sense instead. Some plants prefer to start with one strand of hair first, and then may decide they are comfortable with the water.

Plant bonding quick tip

I like to use my hair as a way to bond with my plants.

That’s right, my hair.

As something that grows slowly and (In my practice) holds my essence, my hair and my plant have a few things in common (disregarding the obvious differences of course).

As a way to leave a part of me behind with my plant, I like to take a couple strands of my hair and tie it gently (don’t be rude to your buddy now) around a stem. As I do this I like to chant

“With this hair, I invite you To create a bond, between us two”

This is just one thing I say, I like to change it up on the spot for different plants. To me, the important part is slipping in the part that it is the plants OPTION to bond with me. I INVITE it to bond with me, it can refuse, sometimes over something as simple as indifference towards me.

The purpose of this practice (for me) is to leave a token of myself behind, something I feel holds a good amount of my personal energy. For me that means my hair (you’d agree if you saw how I care for my hair like it’s a sprit of it’s own).

This allows for a few things to happen (upg) -if the plant is uncertain about me: it can sit with my energy for a while in a way that does not disrupt the plant in any way

- If the plant finds my presence comforting: it leaves behind a nice energy while I’m gone for my plants to feel. You can leave hair behind for plants you’ve already bonded with as a way to leave them something with your energy (great for when you leave for a long trip!)

Beltane Plant Healing Spell

   With Beltane on it’s way this week I figured it was a good time to share this spell. I do this whenever my plants look a little down, especially when it’s been cloudy for a few days. Do this over your garden or house plants! Give them a little pick me up and remind them how much they’re loved and appreciated!  You may add though you do not need to: Four candles to represent the elements around the plant. (This is what I do when I have a potted plant not feeling well) 

Ground and center yourself, (light the candles now if you wish and call upon the elements) then meditate near your plant with the intention of giving it healing energy. Imagine it blooming, bearing fruit or growing tall and strong, See it at its strongest. When you’re ready, with your hands over or touching say

“Magick lives in you dear friend, by the sun, rain, earth and wind. I ask that the elements  give you their strength, to heal your (insert part of plant here) and help your roots embrace the nurturing soil. May you rise up to meet the suns warm rays. 

                                As I will it, so mote it be. “
