Ok I think I’m not done rambling. Before I was vegan, I cooked a lot. I was a good cook and I had a knack for finding really good recipes, rich in flavor and made from whole foods. My soul is about a million times happier being vegan, but i am missing some of the cooking I used to do. I know I can’t make all the same kinds of things, but I can learn how to dress up ingredients I have now. For a while I struggled with trying to make things that felt familiar, but what I really enjoyed was treating the ingredients well and cooking things that felt like home. I can still do that, I just need a push. I need to find some good vegan recipes to get me started or just try some new things. My house always smells best when I’m baking bread or cooking something with onions and garlic. I am aiming to get back to a point where cooking feeds my soul, not just my body.
