"These are not free flowers. We worked hard on this garden."
Reminds me of when a neighbor's dog kept messing with my mom's front yard plants, and my dad asked the guy to get his dog to stop. The neighbor said, "Just let it go," like he didn't even want to try training his dog. When we got our dog, the first thing my dad did was read a dog training book and teach our dog. So my dad told our neighbor that my mom worked hard on this garden for years. I've been watching her buy plants, soil, water the yards daily/weekly, re-pot plants, move them around, prune them, etc. I don't see why people want to act like all the work, time, money, and effort they put into plants doesn't count. As if it's fine to just trample someone else's garden. They may not be animals, but they're still alive. And they had to be nurtured with a lot of work. I've tried growing plants. It's not easy, especially to get them to fruit or have such large flowers and size.
So this comment particularly annoyed me:
Fuck you, dude.
