Well, there go the tulips.🥀🌷 Hopefully next year, I won't be too busy to see them again.

How many years did I go thinking that tulips only looked like little cups? (see below)

They bloom. They change shape. Sure, they look like cups for a while, but they don't stay like that. I didn't realize that I didn't realize that, until I went to a botanical garden during tulip season.

Really makes me think about how important it is to go and get real information about things, no matter how mundane or seemingly trivial. What is that saying about "Common Sense only seems like Common Sense until you (scientifically) test it"? You never know what are your assumptions and blind spots.

I still like this photo I took last year at Descanso Gardens. <3 Maybe I should go to their tulip season again next month, even though they had to discontinue their free-admission days. Looking more and more worth the money. This time, I won't be too embarrassed to pull out my Nendoroids for photos with the tulips.
