Wieee, I finally upgraded my higgledy-piggledy foamboard grow light to a home made two-levelled plant shelf! Made out of recycled free-to-take IKEA furniture parts people normally use to prevent their just bought hoard of unassembled furniture crashing through a window of their Ford Focus while taking it home. Creating more space in my southern window for any troubled plants suffering from light-shortage in my living room currently.
As you can see, my Peperomia prostrata (Sting of Turtles) and my Philodendron Brasil are not doing well.. Lack of proper light and overwatering caused both to shirk some half their size since I got them. Let’s just hope I can still get them through winter with their environment changed.

It is getting pretty cramped in the southern windowsill. Although there is more light, temperatures so close to the glass are less constant and now that it started freezing nightly they might even drop below 10°C – to low for many tropical plants. I plan on buying a thermometer so I can actually measure and keep track. But if my presumptions are true, I should come up with other solutions for my light problem; especially for the young tropicals.
