i randomly planted some pumpkin seeds in my garden during the middle of summer, dead certain they'll end up cooked to death, then against all odds we got hit by two weeks of consecutive rainstorm and now i've got 30cm tall pumpkin babies that im trying to keep live during a heatwave, frantically googling "how to grow pumpkin" like an underprepared deadbeat dad whos suddenly realised he's behind on three years of paternity

also decided to wear a cute cutoff shirt in spite of all the warnings. now ive fed every mosquito in the neighbourhood.

Saddest possible news all week. My rosemary is dead ;n; im so heartbroken. im going to try to save it but its not looking great, the branches im cutting off are very dry, so i dont know how much live wood is left in here.

Im also incredibly perplexed because this plant was absolutely thriving year after year without needing any water during the summer. And as u can see from the grass growth, the soil still had a fair bit of moisture.

i wish i noticed it earlier and kept some cuttings, at least i’d have a chance to regrow this one. ;-;

Pumpdate: i was worried about my pumps being too dry but apparently i was worried about the wrong thing because now ITS FUCKING MOLDY

ok okokokokok google says its not fatal but 60% of my leaves have been tainted by the fucking Hungering Dust and im worried it going to stunt the growth of my pumps. Fingers crossed.

Ok im done being mad heres the patented ultra high-tech irrigation system i can up with:

a) cut a milk bottle open

b) unscrew the lid and bury it upside down

c) profit??????

pros: less wasted water from evaporation, prevents wet leaves and the spread of fungus, very helpful if it hasn’t rained in a while and the dirt is repelling all the water
