We did some walking through Brussels. We must have been using the Belgian Internet because every cafe we looked up claimed to be open, however upon arrival they were closed! We opted to eat lunch early in the day because we had also read that the Noordzee near the Christmas Market was closed today. When we arrived at the market we found Noordzee’s customers a half block deep! Damn you Belgian Internet!!!
But we’ve really eaten well. It’s actually difficult to not eat well in Brussels. In fact, where else do you find fresh oysters for sale at a Christmas Market? Oh yes I should mention we made it to the Christmas Market. There was not a whole lot of wonderful St. Nick inspired items for sale but there was a plethora of delicious foods to eat. Does anyone know what the potato, cheese, and ham dish is called?
A great time had. Maybe just one or two beers too many. I’ve talked to several European friends who laugh when I tell them how much I like Brussels but I’ve met many Americans who love it. Why is that? It’s a great city, I love it. I could be happy exploring this city for months.
