Pepsi water in cans to reduce plastic waste [Starday]
PepsiCo, an American food, snack and beverage corporation based in Harrison of New York, decided to reduce plastic waste in changing plastic bottles to aluminum cans.
The company announced on Friday, its owned brand Aquafina purified bottle water will be sold in aluminum cans at US fast food and restaurant chains starting as soon as next year, as well as test a rollout to retail stores (CNN Business, 2019). Pepsi as one of the world’s giant companies is helping to save the environment, the ocean, the planet by reducing the production of plastic waste. PepsiCo CEO Raom Laguarta said, “Tackling plastic waste is one of my top priorities and I take this challenge personally... We are doing or part to address the issue head on by reducing, recycling and reinventing our packaging.”
