              LIPS   CURL   UP   IN   A   SMIRK,   cheeks  burning  bright  red  as  she  leans  forward  /  arms  wrapping  around  his  neck.          ❝  oh  really?  i  guess  married  life  does  have  its  perks.  ❞        she  mumbles,  teeth  brushing  against  her  bottom  lip.

                  "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?”

        WHAT   DOES   SHE   WANT   FROM   HIM?   she  is  not  sure.  friend  turned  lover,  reminder  of  broken  promise  and  failure  /  does  she  want  anything  from  him?  once,  his  arms  had  been  the  only  ones  that  offered  her  comfort.  the  only  place  where  she  found  shelter  after  the  loss  of  their  friends.  he  with  the  heart  of  gold,  with  enough  patience  to  understand  her  /  with  enough  patience  to  defend  her.  but  now?  now  when  she  looks  at  him,  april  is  reminded  of  another  type  of  comfort.  the  type  of  intimacy  only  a  husband  and  wife  should  share.  the  longing  between  a  couple,  the  hushed  moans,  the  way  his  hands  felt  intertwined  with  hers.  no.  she  cannot  go  there  again.  what  would  god  think?  april  had  broken  her  vows  and  she  had  been  punished  for  it.  and  jackson?  he  was  nothing  but  a  reminder  of  everything  that  had  happened  in  san  francisco.             ❝  i  want--  i  want...  ❞                i  want  you.  i  want  us.  i  want  to  do  this  right.  i  want  to  forget  everything  that  happened.              ❝  i  have  to  go,  jackson.  ❞
