34. Can your character drive? If so, what kind of driver are they? If not what’s their preferred manner of transport?

It’s been a while since he last drove a car, but muscle memory serves well enough to retain the basics at least. So if he were to acquire a car or something similar in the wasteland, his driving skills would be rusty, but back to something better soon enough. Seeing as there are no speed limits or other traffic rules anymore, he’d be prone to having some reckless fun with it.

Pre-war he liked public transport, so long as the system was good (enough). I haven’t thought too much about post-war to be honest. I guess just whatever’s available, almost anything is a luxury compared to walking. But he does eye those abandoned broken down tanks a lot…

39. What’s your character’s guilty pleasure?

Sometimes he likes reading books that aren’t about facts and science or other serious topics, but things that you wouldn’t really expect this old egghead to read. Such as YA novels. He’ll still mercilessly pick them apart if there are factual errors or inconsistent story points, but he’ll unironically enjoy them and get embarrassed if people see what exactly he’s reading.

40. Your character’s friend has just been mugged. What’s their reaction?

Considering the friends he keeps, he’d be surprised first and foremost. You? Mugged? Are you sure?? He also wouldn’t be sure if this is supposed to be a ha ha funny story, like ‘lol listen to this embarrassing thing that just happened to me…’. Once it’s clear that it’s serious, he’d be indignant and angry for their sake of course. But there’s a good chance he considers the person in question stronger and more capable than him, so he can’t really see how little puny him is supposed to help, especially after the situation already happened. Practical solution-seeking brain does not compute.

Well, unless it literally just happened, the perpetrators are still in reach and the friend maybe even got a little hurt, watch him go off like a rabid dog trying to pursue them (or, more practically, trying to get them into the sights of his sniper rifle and shooting them in the legs)

Neva

48. Is your character easy to make cry? Or angry? Or annoyed?

Neva’s not one to cry easily, she’d rather pull out her teeth than show that kind of weakness. She generally takes things in stride and is easy-going, preferring to look on the good side of things. Annoyances don’t usually last very long, but she will get very angry at people picking on those weaker than them. This could be just your average playground bullies, or of course the old ‘raiders extorting defenseless townsfolk’ scenario.

49. What is your character’s biggest fear? Most irrational?

Biggest fear requires some more fleshing out so I can’t say for sure, but one is probably something bad happening to Lucia. If we go the angle of Lucia being on the more fanatic side, I could picture Neva being worried that this fanaticism might end up driving a wedge between them. Something like Lucia’s faith suddenly declaring Neva bad and evil and Lucia turning on her.

A regular, totally not irrational fear are heights. She does not like them. The view from the ground is perfectly good as well and it definitely does not require going too close to the cliff edge, shut up
