Despite this leaked information, Sony STILL is quiet and keeps pushing "digital only" forward! I also have seen a second leaked image where Sony, STILL, defended digital games only. In that image, similar to this, Sony had added in the list few games which you can buy ONLY AS DIGITAL VERSION! So of course it then twists the results and, in their minds, is a proof "Most players buy only digital."
I'm not angry or upset if Sony wants to give more digital games. I'm MAD because they are taking physical discs away from us! They are NOT giving their players / supporters a choice anymore! This also means that Sony can define / decide their prices in their store, their PS Plus prices etc.
Prices in PS store, as well as PS Plus prices, have risen A LOT! Digital games have gone from 50 dollars to 100 dollars! And there's idiots who are WILLING to pay that for a DIGITAL GAME which Sony CAN / WILL take away from you at some point, without a warning! And when that happens, that game is GONE FOR GOOD! No matter how much you've paid for the game, NOTHING protects you from this to happen! Think about it as Sony is a library, you pay huge among of money to "borrow" their game and then when you "return the game" (against your will if Sony so decides), you will NEVER be able to borrow that game again. Fair? You think you OWN the game just because you paid for it? No and No. You only pay hell lot to get A CODE which grands you limited time to play the game, nothing more.
People also have report about it already how Sony is offering BIG discounts to those who have cancelled their PS Plus. Some have gotten offer of -20% of any game, some -50%, -60% and some even -70%. I understand THAT'S tempting BUT we shouldn't give in! This is Sony's way to keep sucking your money, to keep you hooked! Players who fall for this are brainless sheep who just go with the flow without thinking anything themselves, letting Sony doing the thinking FOR THEM. Pretty much like how societies do to regular people.
But needless to say, people are MAD! Some countries actually HAVE SUED Sony already because of their horrible consumer rights. EU has also stepped in but they said: "We can't stop Sony for making digital games only. We can only interfere and observe with their consumer rights."
While I live in EU, I still wouldn't count on EU's "help". There's so many things what EU say but never do OR they just decide about idiotic things which have no bigger meaning! Or those decisions only make peoples lives harder!
But I think there's a thing what Sony hasn't calculated or consider. Sony HAS announced they can do / survive even if most of us players would walk away. True BUT they only have calculated this to next couple of MONTHS, NOT YEARS. If their finances will keep coming down for YEARS, they have to come up with a way to milk more money from their users. I think they have rise their prices already BECAUSE of this, because so many has canceled their PS Plus, have cancelled pre-ordered games etc. Sony shot itself on the leg but the worst results will come into the light of day only later.
But yeah, I have come to conclusion I will start to find and buy physical games to PS3, PS4 and PS5, USED ONES, while I still can. I might buy PS1 and PS2 too if I can find them (used but working) since I don't have them anymore...
