Toys can help children improve their motor skills, and develop their imagination. Here are some of the best toys that enhance a child's imag
May your play-dough always be soft and delicious
Homemade play-dough
I found myself getting super stressed this finals week, so I took some time to make play-dough which provided a grounding activity as well as something fun to play with while I work my way through exams and papers.
Here’s the recipe I used
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup salt
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
2 cups lukewarm water
2 Tablespoons of vegetable oil (coconut oil works too)
Food coloring, optional
Quart sized bags
Mix all of the ingredients (except food coloring if you want more than one colour) in a pot over medium heat and stir until it all clumps together then take it off the heat and lay it on wax paper. When it’s cool enough to touch you can start working with it and split it for different colors (this is the best part because it’s all warm and it feels so nice to play with it). Add food coloring and knead it until the color is mixed in (if you don’t want to stain your hands, do this part in plastic bags).
I halved the recipe, and it made 3 decent sized clumps of different colors. This recipe is also super soft and fun and edible in case small children want to play with it (it tastes awful though it’s like eating straight salt and yes I tried it for science and yes it was awful and I had to drink a whole glass of water immediately but hey it’s not toxic so that’s cool)
Happy playing everyone!
I made this! I’m very proud of it!!!!
