reminder to:
straighten your back
go pee goddAMN IT STOP HOLDING IT
go take your meds if you need to
drink some water
go get a snack if you havent eaten in a while
maybe wander around the house/stretch a little if you’ve been sat at the computer a while (artists especially: sTRETCH THOSE WRISTS)
reply to that text/message from earlier you’d forgotten about
maybe send a nice lil message to someone having a bad day?
I just would like to thank everyone who ever reblogs this so that it somehow ends up back on my dash because I usually need the reminder (especially the drinking water one)
i’ve been saying this to myself this morning and i’m going to say it to you in case you need to hear it: you are not here to be physically attractive. that is not your purpose. you are here to learn new things and be kind to people and listen to your favorite music and pet cute dogs and read big books and drink good coffee. you are here to see beauty in the world and create it when you can’t find any. you are not here to impress people with how you look.
Be a bad bitch with a warm heart. It's not cute to be rude and disrespectful. You can be confident, have no tolerance for insults and still be gentle and kind to people who deserve it. This is the dream combination that needs to be mastered.

Tell Etsy that #ThisIsNotNative
This is why I stopped selling on Etsy. I got really sick and tired of all that nonsense.

hey all, here's a petition to the Honolulu City Council, the Kailua Neighborhood Board, and Kailua and Oahu residents, urging them to support the Kawainui Street Apartments project in Kailua:
Hawaii needs more affordable housing NOW! Please support the Kawainui St. Project!
this petition only has 310 signatures.
and here's another petition (with 5 signatures at the time of posting this) by a group of volunteers working with the Faith Action for Community Equity group that made the other petition:
We are a volunteer group of Kailua renters and homeowners working in association with Faith Action for Community Equity. We believe housing
if reading the above post bothered you, do something about it!

Please reblog if you think that “they/them/theirs” is a valid set of pronouns.
Trying to make a point to my father.
A huge number of people are already getting fucked over when it comes to being allowed to cast a vote in the upcoming elections. Let’s try to minimize what that number COULD be as much as possible. It might also be useful to have the number for the ACLU written down (or already in your phone) so you can CALL THEM while still at the polling place and get whatever information is needed in order to see about having the ACLU sue them. Write down names. Get witnesses. Take photos. MAKE IT VERY CLEAR TO THE POLLSTERS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE. (Unless you have reason to believe they’re going to be assholes and try to have you arrested for doing so, in which case, be as subtle as possible.)
Some more info on this, state by state.
^^ Really look at the state by state info so just in case this happens you’ll know what to do!

Carrie L. Kruck tweeted: “Memorize, take a screen shot, write in sharpie on your arm these magic words to use if you are turned away at the polls:”
Kassandra Seven tweeted: “These are the magic words: “Give me a provisional ballot with a receipt as required by law when requested.”

any mention of black lives matter has disappeared off my dashboard so i thought y'all might want to know that police stormed a peaceful vigil in memory of elijah mcclain, attacking mourners with pepper spray. families were there. children were affected. this movement isnt over just because it's no longer trendy.

I’m just going to be blunt here: the dark academia aesthetic is extremely white-centered, euro-centric, and romanticized. as students, it is essential that we are showing up for our BIPOC siblings (specifically our Black friends) in every single aspect of our lives including our online spaces. as a part of the studyblr community, our tendency to be consumers is pretty inevitable- whether we’re shopping for cute stickers to decorate our planners or looking for the next novel to read, it is time that we acknowledge the importance of where that money is going towards. I URGE YOU TO STOP BUYING ON AMAZON! here is a non-comprehensive list I’ve put together of BIPOC small and/or independent businesses!
please feel free to reblog this and add onto this list (obviously keeping in mind the criteria I’ve previously mentioned) to spread the support for our BIPOC creatives and business owners. (the ones in *starred italics* are my personal favorites, but you should really check every business out!)

leave people softer, brighter, calmer than when you found them
i feel like most of the posts i see supporting closeted folks, especially during june, end with something like “you’ll be able to celebrate pride one day and we’ll be here for you when you do!!” which is great for those it applies to but
i’m sending love to the folks who will never be out. who have only told a couple people in their lives or who will never tell a soul.
i’m sending love to the people who will never put their real gender or sexuality on their tumblr profile.
i’m sending love to the people who used to be out but are closeted now, or who are only out about certain aspects of their identity but not others.
i’m sending love to the closeted folks who want nothing to do with pride and to those who do celebrate it, have celebrated it and will continue to do so, online or in private or in a quiet chamber of their hearts.
this is your community, too, and it is still your community if you never come out to anyone, and it is still your community if you never go to an LGBTQ+ space or event, and it is still your community if you never interact with LGBTQ+ spaces online.
this is your community, and most importantly, this is your identity and it’s your life, and i support you.
the thing about justice is that if it isn’t impartial it doesn’t actually exist
Basically what’s happening is I need to move out. Literally. My parents love me, I know that. But we are sick of each other.
And when covid happened it got worse. But now all the shops and stuff are reopening and we are all getting back to a sense of normalcy. But covid made it worse and we are all sick of each other. I have this realisation that I love them but I need to move out.
The problem is I’m freaking out because I have no money, part of that is because I had to pay my parents back for something.
Other part of that is my anxiety is very debilitating at the moment and because of covid I don’t have a job and because of anxiety I can’t make a phone calls without having a panic attack afterwards.
And that’s why I’m having a breakdown.
I don’t really feel comfortable with doing one of those a help me posts and ask you to donate directly to my PayPal (not that those aren’t valid), I feel like I need to work for it.
So if you can help me in any way I do art commissions, literary commissions, and I have a redbubble
For Art and Literary dm me: @babesoftheblade
here’s my art portfolio https://docs.google.com/document/d/1axL8qcOWZLKy6pFPi-R2R4hOeYU4JtwMo4iNJzsrEnQ/edit?usp=sharing
my redbubble (which I am building): https://www.redbubble.com/people/Artemis-icarus/shop?utm_source=rb-native-app&utm_campaign=share-artist&utm_medium=android
Artemis-icarus is an independent artist creating amazing designs for great products such as t-shirts, stickers, posters, and phone cases.
If you can’t help me in that way, absolutely fine - I do writing on wattpad, tapas and every like, vote and bookmark counts.
https://tapas.io/series/The-Court-of-Miracles
(those stories aren’t finished yet, but I feel like if they get reads/views I’m gonna be more inclined to keep going)
(or at least boost this)
I just really need to leave because I want to keep a relationship with my parents that isn’t tense and uncomfortable and I also want to be financially Independent.
But most importantly I NEED TO LEAVE.
I’M REALLY SORRY FOR SPRINGING ALL THIS UP I JUST FEEL VERY HEAVY IN THE CHEST AT THE MOMENT AND AGAIN I HAVE NO MONEY, AND I’M FREAKING OUT THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE KIND MESSAGES YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING AND PURE AND GOOD HEARTED.

this is huge. it’s not just in the states, this is worldwide.
as the dash moves back to normal, please don’t let this be the end of your activism. this wasn’t just a trend, these are real lives. continue to further your understanding, get educated, listen to black people, and be an active ally.
