The start of a store
A little glimpse of some Economic Development projects we are working on here in El Salvador. Hotel Tortuga Verde in Playa El Cuco, a frequent volunteer get away, has turned into a market place for community made goods. Inside the Cosmic Cocina Volunteers have created a small shop where we are able to promote artisanal products from our communities and sell the goods for fair prices. Currently the store houses products from five volunteer communities- that means 5 female based cooperatives/individual artisan groups have found new sources of income!
Currently the store carries locally made soap, scarves, jewelry and an assortment of products made from recycled magazine pages.
