How do you think Gihun would feel if, on the way to the next game, he saw the bodies of the rebels strung up in the hall?

I can picture him breaking down again so easily. Demanding the guards put him up there too because that’s where he belongs. Trying to get them to shoot him or trying to climb over the edge of the maze room to complete suicide.

Or, worse—he sees them and just sits down numbly before Jungbae’s corpse, back to the wall, and refuses to get up again.

They have to carry/drag him to the next game because he won’t stand, won’t walk on his own.

I can also imagine him getting angry and reckless, simultaneously wanting to get revenge but feeling so exhausted.

Or maybe he just stops and stares, internally blaming himself for each one of those deaths.

I can’t fucking get over the image of Gi-hun having to be dragged because hes unable to move or walk because hes frozen or just so upset. That, or the guards having to stop him from killing himself no matter how desperately he wants it.

6. What's something you have in common with this character?

ADHD I also always forgot my umbrella everywhere and gave up carrying one at some point in my 20s and so just walk around in the rain getting soaked.

7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?

I love how most of fandom just loves the character so much and wants the best ending for him (actual fandom, not weirdos on reddit or twitter who spend all day online talking about a show they apparently hate for some reason).

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Despise is a strong word, but I'm not crazy about extreme woobification/babygirlification of Gi-hun. Like I get it where it comes from, but I find his unhinged, kinda ruthless, angry, violent side gets overlooked when that happens, which is a shame because it's insanely hot important to his character.

12. What's a headcanon you have for this character?

A very random one I have, I feel like he'd have the most unhinged and funniest road rage. Like he lays on the horn, flips people off, break checks tailgaters. Real Garden State Parkway vibes behind the wheel.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.)

Inho/Gihun, altho Sangwoo/Gihun is a close second and Junho/Gihun is gaining a lot of ground!

I don't know that I have one, all the ones I've seen/read, I don't have a problem with! Maybe like Gi-hun/VIP or something.

26. What's something the character has done you can't get over? Be it something funny, bad, good, serious, whatever?

Everything? Like just, exist. I can't get over it. If I can only pick one, I'll go with walking home singing like an idiot and sharing fish with a stray cat, 1- because it's so goofy and adorable, 2- a simple but excellent character beat, and 3- because it's basically the last thing he really did before entering the game world which is super sad and also a great contrast from a narrative perspective.

What's something you like about it?

On top of what I said in the other response, I do like that they have their commonalities-- both have endured very specific traumatic events that they can't really talk about with anyone else, but on top of that, they both have the capacity for this dangerously obsessive laser focus on a task or plan when it's something important to them. That intensity has the potential to just absolutely tear them/each other to shreds if they're not careful with it. (They're not careful with it.)

3. What is your headcanon about them?

Junho feeds stray cats for the rest of his life. It's one of the ways he atones for what he did, the lies he told.

5. Which one confessed first?

idk if "confessed" is the right word, but Junho definitely made the first move. And the second. He made the first like twelve moves.

8. What would their typical date be like?

So, assuming by "date" it's not just hooking up and having really non-SS&C sex, I'd say their dates would be really utilitarian. Like we need to strategize but we also need some stuff from the store so let's do both. However, if there's a universe anywhere kind enough to let them remain a couple after whatever happens in s3, I think they'd maybe sometimes do really high adrenaline or borderline dangerous or outright reckless things on their "dates". It'd be messy and scary and they'd be addicted to it.

9. What characters from their universe would support or hate their relationship?

LOL. I'm pretty sure Inho would not be a fan for several reasons. At first, Wooseok would be like... "Mr. Seong. That guy's a cop, what's wrong with you?" but he'd come around eventually to accept the cop thing. He'd still side eye, uh, everything else about it though. Who else is even left to be supportive or not? </3

12. What is your favorite scene with them?

I love their interactions in s2 but I think I still love the scene in the rain from s1 the most. Gihun is so pathetic, and Junho so desperate, they're both so lost and both about to embark on something that will just fundamentally change who they are as people. Also, it took me a few watches for it to click that, yeah, Gihun really didn't have it in him to offer any help to Junho at that time, but ALSO he just 100% assumed the guy's brother was dead since he hadn't returned, and didn't want to have to be the one to tell him, or be there when he finds out. His empathy underneath it all. (I'm sorry that's sappy I just love him).
