I can never take dom!In-ho seriously. He just gives off such needy sub vibes - man is constantly looking for someone to give him direction and tell him who to be.

He married a stubborn, independent woman who did what she believed in, regardless of anyone else's advice. Then his wife died and he went to Il-nam - another strong, independent person who seemed to believe in him/see something of value in him and offered him guidance that made him feel good about himself - let himself be molded into Il-nam's Front Man, and took Il-nam's philosophy as his own. Then as soon as Il-nam was dying, who should show back up in his life but Jun-ho, the younger brother who looked up to him as a hero and could be a perfect guiding force through Il-nam dying and In-ho fully taking on Il-nam's role at the head of the games.

... except, of course, Jun-ho doesn't take his hand, so In-ho shoots him off a cliff and immediately has about 19 thousand deep personal crises over it

... and then gets obsessed with the winner of that year's games, who caught Il-nam's eye for reasons In-ho cannot figure out, who no one expected to get very far in the games and yet wound up the winner, who was stubborn and clever and kind and believed in impossible things, who refused to kill his best friend only to watch said best friend die in front of him anyway because he couldn't stop someone he loved from making a choice that killed them.

And what I'm saying here is: In-ho desperately wants a big, strong somebody to love him and guide him and tell him who to be so that he'll be valuable and worthy of their admiration.

While Gi-hun, meanwhile, hears everyone tell him what to do, considers their words, and then does his own thing because he knows who he is and he does what he wants no matter what anyone else says.

Ooooh yes? I’m a good baker. Not like win-a-reality-competition-show amazing but I’m not bad! I’m unintimidated by pretty much any baking recipe, though I’m pretty amateur at coming up with my own and TERRIBLE at the decorative aspect of it.

I love to cook but hate doing dishes SO MUCH so I usually have stuff that doesn’t need a lot of pots and pans and etc. Sunday I made THEE most delicious pulled pork nachos which to be fair is more assembling than cooking aside from seasoning the meat and consommé. Unfortunately I’m a “I measure with my heart” kind of cook so I’ll never be able to make it taste exactly the same again lol.

A little less than 4 weeks to go until the finished masterpieces are shared with the world! What's everyone looking forward to most? Whump? Porn? Romance? Heartbreak?

This time last year, we were counting down the days until the season 3 premiere and making predictions about what would become of our beloved characters. Now we're counting down again, but this time, you all are deciding what happens to them! The beauty of fan fiction and fan art-- no matter how the official story ended, infinite endings are possible and people pour their time and energy and love into making them happen. How beautiful is that?

Since it's officially June (or just about where I am) this is a good time for a gentle check with your fic/art and partner. Not a panic check! Just a quick where are we, what’s working, what’s changed, and what do we still need?

Authors, this might mean looking at your draft and figuring out what still needs the most attention. Is the scope still realistic? Is there a scene you need to prioritize? Is there anything your artist should know has changed since your original summary?

Artists, this might mean checking in on your concept and making sure it still feels doable. Has your idea shifted now that you know more about the fic? Are there details you still need confirmed? Is there anything you can simplify now to save yourself stress later?

Tiny goal for this week: have a little check-in with your partner. Share one thing that’s going well, one thing you’re still figuring out, and one thing you might need from them between now and posting.

you know how in the pentathlon gihun picks up the spinning top from the floor and gets blood on his hand, then gives it to “youngil” getting blood all over his hands? do you think that was symbolic of like gihun opening inho’s eyes his eyes to the metaphorical blood on his hands? or maybe a symbolic transfer of blame for every death gihun feels responsible for from gihun to inho? or symbolic of gihun trying to convey that if youngil doesn’t calm down and throw the damn thing correctly, the blood of his teammates will be on his hands?

idk I just like the imagery of gihun bloodying inho’s hands, it’s so counter intuitive.

like.................. without realizing it, gihun takes the blood that's on inho's hands and LITERALLY PUTS IT ON HIS HANDS. by being kind. by being himself he unknowingly symbolically implicates "youngil" from the start. the lie can only work from a distance, but if gihun touches him, is being kind to him, the facade crumbles. like throwing holy water on a demon. god. GODDDD!!!!!

now I'm invisioning a reverse AU where Gi-hun made the wish for In-ho to love him (so that he stops being the Front man? Or mb just because). And In-ho becomes, well, obsessed. And Gi-hun feels guilty, and wants to reverse the wish, but In-ho is clinging to him so Gi-hun has to be careful. Finally he manages to be alone and makes THE call. Only to hear the "real" In-ho say he's happy, because, plot twist, In-ho has been in love with him all along and the wish only made him show the obsession that was already there (mb fueled it a lil, for psych.horror effect). Gi-hun may freak out (this is the person he fell for?!) but then In-ho shows up and tells him he's glad Gi-hun made the wish. Happy end?
