I have so many opinions about The last of us II and even though I’m like halfway through I’m starting to think I should have live blogged it just to highlight how much of an Elating Lesbian Experience it is

Why is breathing in the scent of a loved one’s clothes so sad? Why is that the thing that brings me fresh tears? I already wished I could have picked up his jacket and hat by the front door and worn it, so I’m glad they included this interaction.
Holy fuck. Holy fuck. Joel with Sarah on one side of the dresser. And then Joel with Ellie on the other side. His two daughters. The two most important people to Joel. Side by side with him. Next to each other. That’s how important Ellie is to Joel. She is his daughter, same as Sarah.
He has a dummy’s book about space next to his bed because it was Ellie’s interest. Holy fuck. All the stuff in his house is animals and horses and the Wild West themed pretty much. And then you have this one book that stands out, next to his bed. Because it’s something his daughter likes.
She takes the watch and his gun with her. Oh god.
That watch is so symbolic. Joel kept it on him for so many years even though it was broken because it was a memento for Sarah. And now Ellie takes it because of its meaning to Joel. And it’s meaning to her. And I think there’s something to be said about it coming full circle like this. Again, Ellie is Joel’s daughter. And that’s what the importance of her taking the watch is to me.
