@modernsalon : RUNNER UP ALERT! Congratulations to @gina.devine! Not only did you wow us with your #playingwithblue entry, but also in your breakdown of your color formula. Congratulations!! As you say, the lighter areas read bright and vibrant, and the darker areas read nice and deep, without having to mix up a million blue hues. "The work is in the FOUNDATION. The fun is in the washes!" ・・・ Underneath the Vivids was a high contrast hairpainting, painted with @oligopro blacklight extra blonde lightener and 30 volume, open air, then glossed with @pravana 10.1/10.02 to take a little of the edge off. A majority of her hair being almost white, with her nice dark virgin hair as the base. This allowed me to layer on top with a mixture of @iroirocolors vibrants and @pravana jewel-toned blue hues, it literally looked like the depths of the ocean, mixed with jewels from a deep hidden cave. When I do Vivids I think of it like an oil painting, in the sense that I lay down the foundation with my "natural" blend, and then wash the colors on top.
