“Why is that such a bad thing? It’s nothing to be sorry for unless you think there’s something wrong with caring about me…” Yusaku already knew some extent of how Ryoken felt. It wasn’t exactly positive from the older teen’s perspective.
“Because it never had been supposed to be like this.” As if that wasn’t obvious already. But honestly.. he never should have cared about the younger one. And yet he did. Nearly from the beginning. But he already had to learn that nothing good was coming from it. After all... he didn’t want to see the other one suffer. But every time he tried to protect the younger teen, things for him and those important to him only got worse. Like for his father.
“You already chose your side. There’s no use in caring about the enemy, it’s only making things complicated.” And it most likely would only end in the other one getting hurt even more then he already had. And that was the reason why he regretted caring about him at all.
