Wait. We're about to get a 20min preview of what now? Is this why this State Of Play was slated as 1 hour? Sounds like God Of War music humming.
OMG We're seeing what she looks like?!?! Google says her name is Laufey The Just or Faye. Sorry, I'm not too knowledgeable about the God Of War franchise.
Oh, is she going to armor up with what she finds from corpses throughout the game?
I wonder if I would be fixating on the animal sidekick so much, if I didn't wonder if they were specifically using the "girl/princess with animal sidekick" trope.
Anyway, good for the "machismo, dad" IP for switching to a female protagonist. And for not making her a "damsel in distress".
I wonder if she's going to take these guys' helmets.
Wait. Are they going to drag her to Hel????
I need to brush up on my Norse mythology.
Yup. There's Hel. But why does her headdress look...Babylonian? Assyrian? Egyptian? Is that Ereshkigal?
And this guy looks more Asian oni type... Not quite Japanese. Maybe Thai demon? Even the design of his metal decor looks Southeast Asian. I need to really get back to studying my world mythology. I have several thick books on the subject, just gathering dust on my shelf.
Is that a SLIME CUBE????????? Like from D&D???
"Afterlife of the Gods"
I'm glad that this IP is finally bringing in the multi cultural mythology crossover that was foreshadowed in the prophecy paintings. I was kind of worried when I heard something about Ragnarok being the last game or the returning to Norse settings again after that game, or something.
Oh no! Get out of the way of the battle, cube friend! You'll get hurt! Or else, they can provide support???? That'd be a cool mechanic. Oh! They're bouncing off the enemy! Cube providing help! ^u^
I feel like Asian swords are the only ones that have ribbons at the pommel, but that hilt seems kind of Western... What is that art style?...
GOD OF WAR LAUFEY This does look cool <3
This can't be Dark Pictures. Right? They're still releasing or just recently released that Directive 8020 game. It sure seems like a Dark Pictures / Supermassive game though. UNTIL DAWN 2!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's funny. They were like "last game was 'Until Dawn', so it took place mostly at night. Let's have the next game be in a sunny tropical location!" lol
Control 2! I'm new to all this "SCP Foundation" type of media. But I did grow up on X-files and I love supernatural genres, so I am interested in this whole Control (and Alan Wake) world.
ILL I feel like people have been taking note of how well the Silent Hill 2 remake and Resident Evil 7-9 have been doing.
Why do I recognize that music?! What is Night Rider doing here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's 2026! And now it's Back to the Future's Delorian? Is this about stunt drivers SUNTMAN HOLLYWOOD That's actually a clever way to make a driving game different from the usual racing games. Also reminds me that I had wanted to watch that movie The Fall Guy.
Seeing a trailer for a new Onimusha after all these years, and then a trailer for a new Silent Hill game, after all these years, back to back, feels like some kind of strange nostalgia, I can't quite describe. I bet this Silent Hill Townfall protagonist is dead, and he doesn't realize it.
omg Is this that Ikumi Nakamura's game???????????????????? What's it called??????… It's like Ghostwire, but brighter art direction. Not so much horror, but demon hunting and yokai genres instead. Forunately, I prefer the yokai genre and demon hunter genre. ^u^ KEMURI COMIGN 2027 "Yokai-hunting action game"!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3 "The Fox Window". Oh! I love this trope! they used it in Kami Chuu, X, and lots of other yokai or supernatural genre series! No wonder she clashed with the Ghostwire Tokyo game devs. Supernatural horror is a very different genre from yokai/demon hunting. They seem similar on the surface. But one genre is about disempowerment and one genre is about empowerment and power fantasies. (Though Resident Evil 9 seems to have balanced that well, at least by RE9.)
