Urgent Help Request 13/2

Hello I’m really sorry to make this post again but I’m in a bad situation, I just got fined for an expired bus pass (which I do not pay for because I can’t afford to, otherwise I can’t eat.) for 66€ and I have my ophthalmologist appointment very soon to replace my glasses which will cost me at the very least 50€, after paying my fine I’ll have no money to survive because I was counting on it for the rest of the month, and I surely won’t be able to get my glasses changed which is affecting my studies & life pretty badly. I’m also experiencing health issues and will have to see the doctor for chronic kidney pain, which will cost me at least 25€. I have no source of income at the moment other than some help from my parents and my paperwork still didn’t come through so I can get a job. I’d be eternally grateful if you can help, even a little bit counts, and if you can’t just please reblog this post with no tags because tumblr blocks posts from being viewed. Thank you so much.

LGBT Books to Prisoners is asking for donations!:

Hi, supporters of LGBT Books to Prisoners! We have been receiving amazing book donations the last few months, especially in LGBTQ+ categories, for which we are infinitely grateful. Keep those coming.

Other shelves in our library could use some love, too. Here's what you can do:

First, check your bookshelves and see if you have any books that you no longer need and we could use. Then, ask your friends and family to do the same. If you feel inspired, you might also visit a used bookshop or thrift store and buy some books for us as an in-kind donation.

Wherever the books come from, we'll be happy to receive them, as long as they are SOFTCOVER and in GOOD CONDITION. Hardcover and heavily used books -- e.g. books with a lot of writing in them -- are much harder for us to get into prisons.

If you live in Madison, you can e-mail [email protected] to schedule a drop-off or pickup, or you can swing by the Social Justice Center during our regular volunteer hours. If you live elsewhere, we encourage you to ship the books to us via media mail. Our mailing address is:
