This is a long shot because only 4 people look at this blog and they’re people I know, but if you’re someone who requires captions and subtitling to access video content and you remember specific instances where you’ve tried to access content related to activism, protest, or social justice in general and found it inaccessible, I’d like to hear about it in the replies or a DM, specifically what content and where it was hosted.

I started writing, commenting, and sending messages to YouTubers that don’t caption their videos, but have content that I want to watch. Some of them have tried to tell me that the automatic Craptions that youtube gives are captions, and kind of just refuse to listen when I tell them that those are NOT captions and do not work for accurately relaying information. They basically didn’t care. 

But some have been willing to look into the whole thing and try to figure out a way to do closed captioning on their videos to be more friendly to people who need them. (one of those channels is Grav3yardgirl) So I guess that’s cool. Hopefully I can get more people to caption their videos.
