My Grandpa Sends Me Kisses From Heaven.
Summary: Y/N gives her husband Grayson a very special gift after having their baby.
“Baby, come here please!” I called out to my husband, Grayson. He was in the kitchen while I was putting our three-week old son, Sean Junior down for his evening nap. Soon after, his heavy footsteps were heard throughout the house.
“What’s wrong? Is everything okay with bubs?” He asked in a panic as he entered the nursery... Always so so so protective of the new love of his life. As soon as he read the words: “I’m going to be a daddy!” on a cake I got him for his birthday, he was worried about everything. By the time I was just eight weeks pregnant I could not do anything. Grayson refused to let me tie my shoes, pull up my pants by myself, he even moved everything in the cupboards on the lowest shelf possible so I wouldn’t have to reach very high. And it only got worse from there. He followed me everywhere. It got annoying after a while but once I asked him for a little bit more space, he agreed.
Our little boy was born on the same day that Papa Sean was. Grayson was so upset that entire week. He couldn’t believe that it had been seven years since he last got to celebrate his old mans birthday with him. But when your water broke at eight o’clock the night before and you both heard the first cries of your little boy directly at midnight, Grayson knew that it was his father who had blessed him with a baby. That night, he looked up to the stars and prayed to the man that meant everything to him, raised him to be the gentleman he was and he thanked him for blessing him and his wife with a baby.
You had hired a professional photographer and editor a few days after Sean Jr. was born. You gave him pictures of you, Grayson, Lisa, and Ethan when S.J. was first born. You wanted to have Sean photo shopped in those pictures because it was a dream of his to have grandchildren. He would’ve loved your little angel with everything in him.
Ethan even made the giant picture frame. You wanted everything to be perfect for Grayson. After all, he gave you everything you’ve ever wanted and more.
When Grayson saw the giant box like thing wrapped in paper he was beyond confused. “What is this? Please tell me you didn’t carry this? Hun you’re supposed to be resting, not carrying things around? How much does it even weigh?!”
“Gray calm down. I didn’t bring it up here, Ethan snuck inside through the back door a little bit ago. It’s for you. Open it please.” I grabbed his cheeks and gave him a gentle kiss on his lips. I knew he was going to cry and I was trying my best to brace myself for it.
He went and sat down in the rocking chair and patted his lap, gesturing for me to come sit. After doing so, he rested his forehead against mine. “Thank you for everything. I love you so much and my biggest dream wouldn’t have come true if it wasn’t for you. I know I tell you this everyday but I can never say it enough.” He whispered with tears forming in his eyes.
He quietly opened the gift, not wanting to wake up the baby. And when he saw it a gasp fell from his lips.
The outside of the frame had ghosted pictures of Sean in the hospital room. He had his arm around Grayson, both of them smiling down at the baby. Lisa and Sean together looking at their grandchild, with the absolute biggest smiles on their faces. It was their love, their love created two amazing little twin boys and one of those twins created another little angel.
The two photos that really got Grayson teary? Him, his father, his brother and his first born son all in one image. He wished all of these pictures were real. He wanted to call his father so badly and ask him how the fuck he’s supposed to be a father because he has no idea. His father made it all look so easy and he feels like he’s not doing a good enough job at parenting. All he wants is to make his old man proud. The other photo? The family portrait. All of Graysons most loved one’s are in one photo, it was taken in their living room after being able to take Sean Junior home for the first time. The entire Dolan Family was there, but his dad was in the back with a set of angel wings and halo.
And in the middle of these photos is a letter Sean wrote to his future grandchildren when he found out he was sick. The last line he wrote was: “I may not always be with you, but just know that I will always love you. Papa sends you kisses from Heaven.”
