It disturbs me just how casually people will refer to written or drawn works depicting teenage or child characters in sexual situations as being CSAM, or CP, or whatever. First off, you fucking know that they're not the same thing, because the fucking sloptubers who love calling out people for being lolishos or whatever love posting censored versions of that art. If those guys legitimately thought that those drawings were equivalent to actual CSAM, they wouldn't be advertising that they saved these images to their hard drives to censor them. They are aware that there's a difference. But they're YouTubers. It's about the optics of appearing morally superior to those gross people who draw gross art that they see no value in. They don't give a shit about artistic expression and they want a clear delineation of what constitutes real art and simple porn. They don't want to contemplate that no such clear line exists.
Secondly, I feel it cheapens the absolute horror that is actual CSAM material. Actual CSAM involves victims. Real children, having the worst, most traumatizing experiences of their lives captured forever, circulated for years amongst people who see an act of actual child rape and want more to masturbate to. Real children who will grow into real adults, carrying the weight of that trauma, knowing in the back of their mind that there are bad people still circulating footage of that trauma around, navigating the world where they experienced that kind of hurt and trying to deal with relationships and intimacy after an adult violated them in the worst ways one could be violated.
You could never, ever make me care in a million years about a fucking drawing as much as those kids who had to live through that. I do not give a shit what people write or draw or roleplay. I don't care about what adults pretend. And neither should you.
The same companies cracking down on allowing people to sell fucking furry porn online are the same people who hung out with Epstein. They don't fucking care. They have no morals. They don't care about art. It's all about the optics and the fact that they can do whatever the fuck they want anyway, so it doesn't matter to them what they restrict us from being able to do. They allow predators on Roblox to hang around children because the predators have disposable income and banning them would cut into their profits. They want your ID so that they can know what kind of porn YOU are looking at, just in case they need to use it against you later. They want their brand images to remain friendly and free of any potential controversy while they exploit laborers overseas being paid pennies a day. And where are you? Turning your activism to calling out people drawing yucky things of your blorbo on Twitter? You think that's helping anyone? You think that makes CSA survivors feel safe? Or is it just about the optics?
I'm so fucking sick of this argument about censorship and freedom of artistic expression being focused on fucking fandom. I know that's where I am most of the time making fan comics, but it's such a juvenile way to view it. I've ranted about this before, but it feels particularly egregious in light of new revelations about what the 1% do for funsies and the increased surveillance of everyone by an authoritarian state. And you're telling people to go bully someone over cartoon porn. What the actual fuck is your problem? How much more unserious can you possibly get?
You are a convenient stooge for rich pedophiles. A class traitor. You're allowed to find the art disgusting. But recognize that it is, in fact, art. And not evidence of a fucking rape.
