Thinking ai is a societal issue is reactionary and ( i hate this term but im using it anyway ) liberal, but something that i find even more reactionary and ridiculous is when people try to discover whether or not something is made with ai. Like you can talk all about ai water usage and cognitive impact if you want, those things arent * actually happening * but they're at least logical things to get mad about. Getting mad about the possibility of someone using ai in a piece of media is just plain dumb.

There is no magic special evil ai property of things made using ai. Something created using it is not inherently different in any way besides the way it was made. Trying to figure out if somethings made with ai is like trying to guess the gender of someone you met online. Its pointless and also impossible to get accurately. And even if you for some reason still felt the obsessive urge to figure out if something was made with ai. If you cant even tell without having to study it for hours, then whats even the point????

I personally think the DNI should be replaced with a WNI (Will Not Interact), instead of trying to police who touches your public posts, it instead just gives a heads up of who you won’t be interacting with.
