Have a Seasonal Meal with us!

Being disabled and going through a flare this holiday season has not helped with the Great Fall Uneasy - texts from my mother and other family members asking me to set aside my righteous anger and join them for the holidays, as impractical as that might be. I do have family I want to spend the holidays with though... My chosen family, namely my partner and my close friends here on Tumblr.

So, I hereby invite @thechronicchillpill @theradceliac @eevee-morgan @artemisgarden @stynalane @youngchronicpain @punkrockcryptid to this holiday feast post!

(This is where you join me in imagining all of us around a decked out table filled with food of our choosing and cute streamers above through the chandelier.)

I'm bringing sweet potato casserole (mashed sweet potato topped and filled with brown sugar and chopped walnuts), green bean casserole (with the fried onions, you know the one), my partner has made glazed ham and I've got a pot of wassail cooking on the stove (apple cider cooked with lemon slices, cloves, cinnamon sticks and star anise).

I'm thankful for each and every one of you, for the others I have not named because brain fog has kept them from me, for the improvements I have made to my life and health this year (namely ibuprofen and Zyrtec), and for every piece of chronic illness/disability comic and art made and shared because that stuff keeps me going, ya know?

I look forward to improving my life and health more next year and for more silly antics to get into with all of you.

If you want to join me or keep the feast going, please include who you'll invite, what you're making for the feast (I've made so much because I'm hosting, this is all play pretend so don't be stressed out; it's absolutely okay to come with something from the store or nothing at all), what you're thankful for and what you're looking forward to in this coming year.

I'll probably also be doing one of these for the winter holidays, so don't fret if you feel you haven't joined on time.

I love all of you and I am sustained by the mental image of all of this as I endure this flare.
