hey creatures, I need some guidance or tips

I'm going to be seeing my primary care physician who, mind you, did diagnose me w/ me/cfs and fibromyalgia. I have to ask her for a paper about my most recent shitty ass fatigue episode to get my sick pay from work and I'm TERRIFIED she'll say no, mostly because she's been really weird about it prior.

how can I advocate for myself without wanting to tear my skin off (if anyone is upset w me, I want to die)

Disability Communities Defending Democracy is hiring!

Disability Communities Defending Democracy (DCDD) is a new organization, founded in 2025. DCDD works to defend and grow inclusive democracy. We work to help disability communities get the skills they need to promote inclusive democracy. This also means we help disability communities work against anti-democracy movements. Anti-democracy movements want to make democracy less inclusive or get rid of democracy. Anti-democracy movements want to make disability community spaces less inclusive. We do our work through education, information and resource referral, community partnerships, and other kinds of support to disability communities.

Compensation: $40,000/year ($38.46 per hour). Inclusive Democracy Advocate is a non-exempt (hourly) position. DCDD wants to offer more hours if funding increases.

Hours: 20 hours per week.

Benefits: $500 per month benefits stipend

Time off: 40 hours (two weeks) of paid time off, 40 hours of sick time, and five floating holidays. DCDD is also closed for New Years Day, MLK Jr. Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day After Thanksgiving, and December 24th-31st.

Location: fully remote (with travel). Candidate must live in or move to the Pacific Northwest (Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Montana) within three months of hiring.

I NEED GLASSES! haven't worn them in 4 months bc my old pair was too small & the wrong rx. i've been getting constant eye strain migraines and accidental injuries; i'm farsighted & can't see stuff up close. disability partially covers them but it's $69 out of pocket for my lenses + unknown amt for frames.

i was supposed to have a glaucoma test in march bc i have some early signs, but even with a compassionate discount it's still $50.

i also have severe allergies and need prescription antihistamine eye drops, which are $50.

When ppl call hEDS/HSD an invisible disability and act like we're not as oppressed as ppl with visible disabilities when its like... idk I'm pretty sure other people can see my crutches and braces but who knows maybe im wrong

Friendly reminder that HSD isn't a "less severe" version of hEDS, the difference is number of symptoms present, not severity, the difference between someone diagnosed with HSD and someone diagnosed with hEDS can be something as minor as a few inches on their arm span or even just being too fat for your stretch marks to count towards a diagnosis.
