Listen you guys…I don’t get super emotional over stuff like this very often but I am legit crying. @trouvelle made me this Tsukki art for basically no reason other than because it’s Tsukki’s birthday and she loves me and she’s the most pure ray of fucking sunshine to ever exist. This is like the most gorgeous thing I can’t even with her anymore…ya’ll will find my body on main where I have passed away from being overwhelmed by her awesomeness and her love. Also…she gave me the transparent version and I have photoshop so… NGL this is going to be my new little black dress and I will have a Tsukki for EVERY FUCKING OCCASION. Christmas? DONE Easter? DONE Librarian day DONE That one obscure religious holiday that I don’t even naturally celebrate DONE There will be no limit to the amount of Tsukishima’s I have so be prepared for that.

The Promises I’m Making (2020 Edition)
I did it… I made it through 2019… I might be dragging my body and soul behind me, but at least I survived to 2020… To be honest, it was incredibly hard to come up with promises this year because I just want to sleep. Everyone out there saying we need to start the new 20s with energy and a fresh leaf, and I’m just over here like… I would like to hibernate for all of 2020, please. I really just want NOTHING to happen all year. But I can’t break a 13-year-old tradition just because I’m tired, so here are 50 promises—some old ones I failed last time, many new ones about taking better care of myself… May 2020 be the year of calm and quiet… I have from now until January 1st, 2021, to keep these. Good luck self!
“The Utah House” promises:
1) Install the fire escape window in the Utah house, no matter how much it might cost, because I can’t get a totally unrelated tenant in that basement without said window…
2) Buy sod to add grass to the front portion of the lawn so that it no longer looks like garbage.
3) Fix the bricks near the windowsills on the Utah house to prevent long-term damage.
4) Get a watering system for my roses at the Utah house because I think my bro is probably killing them and that’s just not cool.
5) Work on the patio at the Utah house before it just flat out falls down.
6) Paint the stairwell so that there’s no chance of anything like lead paint or asbestos being exposed.
7) Trim the backyard bushes so the neighbors don’t hate us anymore…
Now back to our regularly scheduled disorganization:
8) Finish the article for the Shakespeare magazine.
9) Attend my brother’s graduation from college (finally)!
10) Go adventuring in Utah with Kacchan and @rachelwritesstories this summer. (Do you like how I signed you up without even asking you? That’s how we roll.)
11) Get back into my jogging/walking routine—at least three times per week.
12) Get my wisdom tooth removed because it’s still there and still killing me, yikessss.
13) Finally officially list out all the shows I need to watch with Kacchan and watch at least one!
14) Get an official physician because previously I was getting my medicines from an urgent care place and their prices are higher than standard physician’s visits.
15) FINISH THE GIVEAWAY PRIZES I PROMISED because holy shit I am incompetent and the worst and everyone has permission to hate me for starting things and never finishing them, fuck.
16) Be an effective and proactive mod for the zines I’ve been invited to mod.
17) Return to the Channel Islands to take better pictures. D;
18) Actually play (and finish) a game other than Final Fantasy XIV this year.
19) Get a screen door for the Texas house side door.
20) Update Home and a Half more than once? PLEASE??? The guilt I feel over this currently is crushing.
21) Have almost all elements of all classes fully planned out and ready before the semester starts.
22) Get an extermination/bug spraying done before leaving Texas for the summer so I don’t come back to a billion bugs in the house while I’m gone.
23) Keep in better touch with people because I am the literal worst at keeping up conversations.
24) Level all my crafters and gatherers to 80 in FFXIV.
25) Finish all the books my coworkers and friends bought for me recently so I can thank them for their recommendations!
26) Find the missing furniture I still need for the Texas house, especially for the foyer.
27) Decorate my tumblr, twitter, and cellphone themes a bit more because I have no good reason for not already doing this.
28) Organize my documents (especially student papers)—my desktop and documents folders give me nightmares just looking at them.
29) Throw away/return/sort all the stacks of old mail in the house (OMGGGG they’ve made me look like paper hoarder and I’m nootttt).
30) Help create the new FOS initiatives at work to increase the number of students enrolled in humanities classes.
31) Learn how to create charms at home so I can create cute custom charms!
32) Sew a Great Serpent of Ronka plushie… SCREE!
33) Cancel old credit cards to avoid the temptation to use them.
34) Get official contracts from my tenants so I can make sure the rental is all above board.
35) Talk to an HR rep about my retirement savings so that I can consolidate all my retirement accounts into one.
36) Really finish decorating my office so it looks super cute and all my students want to visit me.
37) Have at least one day a month in which I do not do ANYTHING. No work. No productivity. Just relaxation.
38) Keep the dog better groomed to avoid so much shedding dog hair in the house.
39) Take care of the plants at the front of the Texas house a bit more because they’re a bit shabby looking.
40) Do at least one artwork to actually use that new paint program I bought.
41) Use those soaking salts and sugar scrubs I’ve bought over the last couple of years and not used; this is the year of treating myself.
42) Make some gorgeously decorated baked good with Kacchan using the new icing tips we bought.
43) Complete my BNHA manga collection. Since my bro bought me a bunch of the volumes for Christmas, I might as well.
44) See a groove-billed ani. (It’s another type of bird.)
45) Make it to 3000 followers on tumblr. Can I do it? Maybe if I posted actual content once in a while…
46) Lose ten pounds so that I feel more fit and comfy.
47) Pay down credit card debt by at least 1/3. Yikesssss, I really need to do this quick.
48) I will finally fucking finish that chapter 73 analysis of Noragami… I swear to god…
49) I will have my classes completely updated using the new textbooks before fall semester begins!
50) I will keep these promises. LOLLLLL.
