A: Aptitude1. what are your oc’s natural abilities, things they’ve been doing since young?Foraging, hunting, sparring, sling weaponry, fletching, horse-riding, clothing maintenance, whittling, survival skills. 2. what activities have they participated in?this question is worded so dumbly,,, all that life entails???3. what abilities do they have that they’ve worked for?Fluency in other languages. Her weapons training. Reading and writing. Leadership.4. what things are they bad at?Being a nice person. Archery. Anything related to technology or arcane beyond cantrips. Keeping still. Magical healing.5. what is their most impressive talent?I’d say it’s a toss-up between her charisma or cunning.

C: Comfort1. how do they sit in a chair?She tends to sit closer to the edge, legs squared and spread, with a slump to her shoulders. She likes to rest an elbow on her thigh and hold up her head in her hand often as well. 2. in what position do they sleep?On her back, legs together, arms resting over her stomache or loosely to her sides.3. what is their ideal comfort day?She’d either 1. Spend it all in complete isolation in nature 2. Have a lazy day with Bricini.4. what is their major comfort food? why?Eating is not a comfort mechanism of her’s.5. who is the best at comforting them when down?I’d say @jessipalooza‘s Bricini or @captainswingbeard‘s Ithanar. Ithanar is steady and hears her out + usually relates… Bricini will argue with her until they get down to the ‘root’ of it and then she calms down after that sort of ‘cool-down fight.’

F: Fun1. what do they do for fun?Physical activities by herself or with similarly-athletic friends. 2. what is their ideal party?A quiet gathering at home or somewhere more scarce in the night - with her closer companions.3. who would they have the most fun with?Bricini, Renalays, Ithanar, @trained-trainwreck’s Ethalarian, her army company, in terms of fun, fun. She certainly enjoys other people beyond this. 4. can they have fun while conforming to rules?She is absolutely not a conformist in this regard.5. do they go out a lot? Yes. 

H: Heat1. do they rather a hot or cold room? She prefers a cold room; she runs at a high temperature.

18. ♥ Do they have a ‘type’?

Thanidiel definitely likes challenging people. Her attraction to someone has a positive, direct, correlation with how passive aggressive/bickersome she and another woman is.

22. ♥ Tell us about a sacrifice they made for their significant other.

Man, they aren’t nearly as serious yet for a good answer to this one, lol. I guess Thanidiel does tend to give up parts of her routine to give Bricini company the morning after. And she probably lets Bricini hog blankets or eat off her plate. 

29. ♥ How do they express their love to their partner?

She keeps herself around. At the start of their relationship I headcanoned that Thanidiel often left in the middle of the night or before Bricini would even wake up and she didn’t exactly seek out the other’s company - it was more like a lot of accidentally meeting up or Bricini hunting her down/requesting her.

Now she commonly drops in, just to drop in. Or deliberately makes herself come back when she knows she needs to get time to herself than to just up and disappear.

30. ♥ Would they leave the person they love if it meant saving their life/giving them a better chance at life?

Bricini is a big girl. If there was a drastic life decision about that - she’d just let her choose if Thanidiel should be around or not.

🗣 is there a lore thing from eso or wow that you would trade between the universes? 🧝‍♀️/🧠 idk if you want to specify but with izulde becoming a revenant I'd be interested to hear what the shadow lady thinks about ALL THIS DEATH suddenly getting wrapped up with her bae. Or just her thoughts on death (or whatever u feel like talkin abt)

🗣 is there a lore thing from eso or wow that you would trade between the universes?

I don’t think there is anything lore-wise that I’d bring from WoW to ESO but I do find myself often being so amazed by the commitment to lore fidelity that TES has. It’s what makes the world so vibrant and rich. I mean ESO literally has a job position called Loremaster where they have the responsibility to check in on EVERYTHING to make sure it fits believably into the universe TES has created. Like in the interview Leamon Tuttle was talking about how he even talks to the team behind the crown store about lore. Every little thing in ESO has lore. The fucking piercing customizations I choose for Sovaliah have lore. Like that’s just so far out of this world compared to what I’m used to from Blizzard that I don’t even know man. 

The impact on the RP community this has is really cool too. People tend to be greater sticklers for playing by the rules but I haven’t seen anyone be an asshole about it. Mostly people want to play a character that fits into this lively world and then have major geek out sessions in lore channels across discord servers to learn how best to do that. It’s really cool to see the textual equivalent of eyes lighting up for people to get in deep explaining their favorite facets of lore because the content is there, it has been written. I don’t even think some novels have as much worldbuilding as TES does. 

WoW definitely does have some good worldbuilding but it feels very adhoc compared to TES for being a franchise that has been around for about the same amount of time IRL. I think WoW depending more on making grand rulings of “this is how it is” in lore creates the failure that leads to retcons/lack of integrity in story - compared to TES having an easy solution by having NO overarching answer to anything, where the world is presented from every perspective/culture and you the player are left to find the common themes amongst cultures instead.

This one is actually best summed up in her own words from this letter that I wrote not too long ago

🧠 Azriah on death in general

This is a more complex one. 

Azriah was deeply scarred like many of the surviving Blood Elves by the events of the Third War, but as you know she is a very reserved character that will almost never admit any kind of weakness. The most visible way her aversion to death comes out in her zero tolerance for Necromancy in the vein of Arthas and the way she continually shuts down inquiries about it amongst the suncasters. She thinks it’s profane and vile in the worst way, but in true hypocrite nature doesn’t seem to apply these rules to herself. She would never raise bones from the dirt, but I don’t think she would be all that opposed to the practice of the Revenant of seeking willing spiritual companions for aid. There was once talk about a project to get willing spirits to power a construct. To her that’s just utilizing a resource.The key point there is that the practice of the revenant school seems to hinge on consent of the soul. Necromancers that forcibly raise the dead and command power of the soul are irredeemably evil. Someone who calls upon ancestors for fortification is different in her eyes. 

As for how Azriah feels about mortality/her own death, she seems to feel immortal and in a way she is. At this point she is so entrenched in shadow magic that when her body finally reaches its end she will most likely become a shadow ascendant, thereby living on in a way without termination. This is also a convenient solution for her as she is very superstitious and believes in a type of afterlife. she has long thought that she is cursed and were she to die an ordinary death, her afterlife would be one of torment. Finding a way to ascend completely into the void would be a way of bypassing this fear. She also firmly believes she is haunted by her first husband’s ghost and tends to blame that haunting/curse for most of her trials in life (because being accountable for failure is hard)

Open to any character. What's something they've quietly resigned to in their mind? It can be a big thing or a small thing, but what made them give up on it and why? Do they accept this resignation easily, or does it still bother them? What makes them think about it? Is there any going back?

The most obvious answer would be Avie’s eventual resignation to the fact she will never have normal sight again - but it is much too soon and still much too painful to even think about. Perhaps in the future she will quietly resign herself to this fact but it won’t be for a long time yet.

Taeonthrial gave up on the fact she would probably never be able to use the boomkin druid form about three hundred years ago. She doesn’t have much affinity for the arcane and isn’t deeply religious, so her connection to Elune and the mysterious ways of the chicken. It doesn’t bother her much, she has a firm grasp on restoration magics and timbermancy, and is a more than adequate feral druid.

For any character: After a good day, when the lights are out and they're ready for bed, what's the thought that creeps in to ruin everything? How often does that thought come back, and why is it so important to them? Is there anything or anyone that can help them through it? If so, who and why. If not, why not?

Let’s just answer for both the mostly active characters! Why not! 

Vivvienne: The nether calls to her. That sweet sickly siren song that is the taste of fel. She holds tight to her husband to comfort her, sometimes even through his own fel-addled presence feeding her addiction. Even though she doesn’t want to give it up, she does know that this is not normal and not healthy and that she is an addicted mess. 

Severian: The thought that keeps him up at night is..that at the end of the day even though everyone could have lavished praise and love down on him, he is worthless. There is no real feeling for the terrible rogue and that he’s being used for whomever’s gain. When they’re done and tired with him they will literally leave him for dead again. 

Both think these things rather often, Severian more than Vivvienne and they both have their ways of coping, Viv through love and support (and enabling) and Sev through drinking and smoking and just plain going “LA LA LA I CANT HEAR YOU, ME”. It’s pretty important because this is how they view themselves in the world and while there may be hope for Severian in finding true purpose and meaning, Vivvienne is slowly slipping down the path of no return.
