Please advise

I've been thinking about taking a vacation in October, but I fear that I might be sick or have an illness. I have been scared to go to the doctor after what has happened with my mother. I know that the longer I wait the worse it can be in case I do have anything. I've been struggling with deciding if I go to the Dr. before my vacation and not really enjoy it now knowing that I'm sick and fearing the worst. Or do I go on my vacation and have lots of fun and go to the Dr. when I get back.
