☮ ━ What do you do to try and get the muse to roleplay a character?

I dunno if this comes across as arrogant or what but since most of my muses encapsulate a part of me most of my posts just come naturally. I put my fingers to the keyboard and they start flying. Does it take a few tries for the posts right sometimes? Yeah. I’ve deleted hundreds of words on a whim before to try something else that may work better.

If the muse starts to fail me though, I listen to tons of music. Just run through playlists. Eventually I get the spark back. :’3

Send ☯ for my muse’s reaction to seeing yours in public

Karren smells Blythe before she sees her.  It’s a smell connected to a strong feeling; maybe a danger kind of feeling.  And there she is.  A redheaded human shyly cradling a notebook and waiting for a bus.  

Nothing about her last meeting with Blythe suggested she’s dangerous.  Nearly everything about her sum of life experiences suggest humans are always dangerous.  They didn’t part ways for good, last time; it isn’t as if she has to make herself known or risk never seeing a potential friend again.  

She’d really like to show this new friend she’s found to Nathanael.  She’ll feel more comfortable knowing how to act around Blythe when she knows Nate’s opinion; knows what she’s “supposed” to think.  

She doesn’t end up making herself known to Blythe.  When she finally decides that she wants to, she finds she doesn’t have the courage.  Then she watches Blythe get on the bus, and it’s a non-issue.

✎ why did you decide to write this character?

I can relate to Karren in a lot of ways, good and bad, and bottom line I love her.  She’s definitely kind of a mess; I ran into her character at IDK a point in life I guess I was ready to analyze and work through some issues, and writing her has actually helped me like a whole lot.  The same problems look different when you can see them from different angles & such IDK.  …& I really thought the author had bothered to create and introduce her so she could play some important part in the story, I really thought the point of it all was that her incredible qualities were the important part and she’d do great things or whatnot; so here was someone I could relate to in different ways who was about to be raised up as neato, right?  …so that didn’t actually end up happening in the story, but by the time Karren’s role in canon ended I was already pretty damn committed to seeing this fucker come out on top.  So I brought her brothers back too and here we are still.

There was that time at the mall. The time at the park. The time at the grocery store.

That time in the alley…

They tended to stay a fair distance away when watching her.

Not because she’s strange or because she smells…( Not that they would know any of that but still..) Although, she probably smelled incredible.. Or really bad. They would never really know unless they took the first step and talked to her… But that was waayy out of their comfort zone. Initiating conversation? Using words? With their mouth ?! No, no. No. And after the incident at the alley..?

But they were still intrigued.

And they could always just watch.

Which they did.

Today, she was sitting outside on the patio of the café. Now would most likely be the best time to say something. Anything? Could they really just watch her for the rest of their lives?.. No.. They’d have to come up with something sooner or later.. Maybe later?

They fiddled with the many bracelets draped around their forearm.

Maybe next week?

Karren is the proud owner of a slew of virtual pets over an assortment of websites.  Applying some devotion to the various virtual worlds helps provide an outlet for impulses to be devoted to things, things that aren’t people like Shuu who are actually Bad For Her.  …All of her neopets and horses and dragons and whatnot make her pretty happy, but she thinks it’s probably weird to care about that sort of thing and is very quiet about it.
