Soldiers - Gangrel & Tharja
When Gangrel first joined the Shepherds, Tharja hadn't been sure what to think. Mad King Gagrel, the man she used to serve under. The man who threw her homeland into a pointless and bloody war of revenge. The man who nearly sent her to her death.
It wasn't that she held grudges. Tharja understood perfectly well that war was war and holding a grudge against a Mad King for making mad decisions would be like holding a grudge against a feral dog for biting a friendly hand. She did not begrudge Ylisse for nearly decimating her country so many years ago, and she did not begrudge Gangrel for nearly getting her killed in a quest of vengeance. That didn't mean things weren't awkward between them.
Tharja wasn't entirely sure Gangrel even knew who she was. Under him, she had just been one of many dark mages in his army. Talented, yes, far more talented than her comrades, but she had no reason to believe Gangrel had taken notice of her skill. Why should he remember one defector when so many others had laid down their weapons shortly after she left?
She and Gangrel had barely spoken to each other, and Tharja's curiosity only grew and grew. Did he remember her? Did he remember how she deserted his army?
Eventually, her curiosity became so unbearable that she sat herself across from Gangrel at dinner one night and asked him point-blank, "Do you know who I am?"
