As part of their Atlantic Wall defences the occupying Germans installed a French 10 tonne, 22 cm gun dating from 1917 at Batterie Dollmann in Pleinmont on the southwest coast of Guernsey, Channel Islands.
This German bunker at Pleinmont near the southwest tip of Guernsey, Channel Islands, was part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall. The Germans occupied undefended Guernsey in June 1940 and in 1944 the Allies bypassed it to avoid the loss of British civilian lives.
