y’know, i just realized how people only tag visibly older characters with “age gap” when writing for them. like, i don’t think i’ve seen a single zhongli or xiao fic with that tag despite the reader often being several thousand years younger.
i’m genuinely not complaining about it, but it’s kinda funny how millennia-old characters aren’t tagged with “age gap” because they look young, but a some-hundred year old human that is visibly older is tagged with it.
Idk how many of my followers read SAGAU stuff since I don’t write it, but in case anyone was looking for more, check out my s/o’s new SAGAU blog!!!
Requests are open currently and she’s an amazing writer, so if you want SAGAU content, check it out! Just make sure to read the rules first, or I’ll break your knees :) /hj
something neat i discovered while browsing dain’s page on the genshin fan wiki–
so… dainsleif’s skin only turns black when he uses his magic, i think? when he’s just there, doing nothing, all he has is some blue vein-like patterns on normal skin. he also doesn’t have any “scarring” on his face like a lot of people think.
this just furthers my belief that the blue veins are due to ley line energy - maybe that’s how celestia made him immortal. or, it could be an effect from using the elements in the ley lines, since that seems to be how the abyss order (aka his people) manipulate the elements. his title of “bough keeper” would also be all the more appropriate, since his title seems like it’s referring to the Irminsul trees, aka the “trees of the ley lines” and whatnot.
am i slow to the uptake on this? maybe, maybe not. every dain fic i’ve read (so many) depict his “scars” as permanently blackened skin with glowing blue veins, when in reality that effect might only appear when he’s using his magic, which may or may not be related to the ley lines.
i could be wrong, but… eh, guess i’ll be writing dain this way from now on. i’ve already got some ideas.
