Tag: #the Last speaks
Race: Demigod, Not-Entirely-Cybertronian
Age: ???? Very old, but it was born in a primal era. Its understanding of many modern concepts is limited despite its advanced years. It has only recently reawakened.
Pronouns: It/its, they/theirs
Root Mode: Dragon
Alt Mode: N/A - Unable to transform
Appearance: At first glance, the Last Autobot is an intimidating sight. It measures nearly 60 feet from head to tail, and towers over most modern Cybertronians. There are many scars from its battle with Unicron, though; the one that features most prominently is its misshapen jaw. Broken by a swipe from Unicron, it never healed properly. It left the dragon with a significant overbite and weak grip.
There are other obvious design flaws. Over the Ages it has become increasingly bow-legged, one of many signs of Primus’s inexperience with creation at the time of its birth. It somewhat makes up for these limitations with its impressive wingspan and grace in the air.
Personality: Last is, above all else, tired. In its Age it fought with great fervor in order to push back Unicron, and was the first to successfully strike a blow against Unicron. It mourns the loss of the twelve brothers and sisters who tried before it and failed. It feels like a creature alone in the universe, having none left alive from its Age other than Primus himself.
Its relationship with Primus is a complex one. It finds itself drawn to Primus as he is all that is left of the Age it remembers. At the same time, it is angered by the fact that Primus moved on to make other worlds and had less time for the familial intimacy they shared in the beginning. There are few who can say they had the chance to truly live side-by-side with Primus in every waking moment, but Last is one of them. That makes the abandonment sting all the more.
Primus has kept it around as something of a memento of the past, another fact that stings Last. As long as it was left to quiet and rest, it could abide the situation. Now that it has been reawakened, though, the anger is boiling over. It has even gone so far as to directly disobey the Father’s directive.
History: The Last Autobot is one of the first of Primus’s creations, a member of the first Thirteen. It was born in an era of Darkness, having only Primus and its other siblings to help it learn. The earliest years were spent in struggle, learning from the yelps of pain and plaintive cries of its siblings. It learned to see beyond itself, and at the same time Primus created the first brushstrokes: a primitive planet, the start of language, etc.
Not only did Primus bring his children to understanding, but they helped him learn. Before his children he did not fully understand the nature of Life, only yearning for any noise to fill the silence.
After the death of one of its siblings sparked a war with Unicron, though, the Thirteen had to focus their efforts on holding back the Father’s counterpart. Wanting to protect its family, Last threw its whole spark into the battle. It watched as one after another of its siblings went to the front and did not return. When it finally came to its turn, it went to faces it duty with a grim understanding of how harsh life could be.
It survived, but barely. Primus recovered what was left of it and stored it in a suspended state. As the Ages passed, he never expected to go back to it other than when he wished to remember. However, when the creator god sensed the First of his children stirring he knew he would need a unique weapon.
What better than the one of her own siblings? Last has knowledge of her that no modern Cybertronian could hope for. But before the battle arrives, Primus knows he must tackle the issue of Last’s anger and abandonment. He must shatter its ties to its siblings and give it something new to love, something new to fight for.
He hopes that once it experiences the perfection of his new worlds it will find just that: someone or something it desires more than its deceased siblings.
