I am just a regular listener of Plot Twist who is in love with this pre-order prize. I mean, what a great way to hear about indie projects, hype of up our friends, and get book recommendations!
Hosted by Soman Chainani (The School for Good and Evil) and Victoria Aveyard (Red Queen and the Realm Breaker series), the Plot Twist podcast is doing a series of shout-outs for the listeners and readers that pre-order both of their upcoming books: Young World and Tempest.
All you have to do is email them at [email protected] with a copy of your receipt(s) and a sentence or two for the shout-out. It can be about a book you love, are currently reading, a debut novel, a wip you're still working on, etc.

She may or may not meet a handsome mercenary on her journey.
Bonded by Thorns by Elizabeth Helen. Elizabeth Helen is a sister-author duo that writes the Beasts of the Briar series, a why-choose fantasy romance Beauty and the Beast retelling about an adorkable bookworm who finds herself in the world of the fae and imprisoned in an enchanted castle by four cursed princes and one mysterious villain. She must find each of the prince's fated mates in order to win her freedom, but the problem is she's falling in love with them herself.
Danielle’s WIP, No More Tangles, follows Clara a child-life specialist and facility dog handler navigating anticipatory grief, caregiving, and sisterhood after her father is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Inspired by their own journey caring for their father and his choice to pursue medical aid and dying. The novel explores love, loss, and redefining what it means to strong.

Fractured (Shattered Realms trilogy) by Brooke. An epic fantasy romance novel. Eva and the Reapers by Alyssa. This novel is an 80k word YA fantasy with cozy horror elements. Eva Enders life as a teenage Grim Reaper is normal as inhumanly possible until the night she’s sent to reap someone who doesn’t die. When she and her friends get caught between the warring gods in the Underworld, she must discover who she is and decide who she’s willing to become if she wants to save the Underworld, the mortal realm, and every spirit she’s ever helped usher into the afterlife.

Caroline’s wip is a monster hunting novel (comp to Realmbreaker). In a Victorian city guarded against monsters spilling through magical rifts, a prodigious mage lies her way into an apprenticeship she’s long been denied, only to unleash one of the rarest monsters ever seen.
Katie believes it’s important to tell stories about people with chronic illness pain and to show that they can go on adventures too. Their WIP is about new coffee shop owner, Phoebe, who discovers her shop is on top of an old fairy ring. After leaving out treats for her visitors, she’s summoned to the fae court to cater a wedding. Britney who is currently writing their very first novel dedicated to all the daughters who have had to parent their mothers. We get to see the daughter's side in the present and the mothers in the past. The first line of the book: “I have had the privilege of attending all four of my mother's weddings.” I love it. I love it.
Britney is shouting out The Novel Neighbor in St. Louis, Missouri and Dogeared Book in Ames, Iowa, their two local indie bookstores. They also suggest that any listener read Chain-Gang All-Stars, a dystopian novel confronting the prison industrial pipeline and racism in future America.
Figure It Out by Jessica. They are going to be querying their queer YA romance novel, Figure It Out, with the following premise: following a rule change allowing two same-sex figure skaters to compete as a Paris team, longtime rivals Calli and Avalon must join forces if they're going to have any hope of winning nationals. However, after making fools of themselves with a terrible competitive debut as Paris team, it becomes clear that unless they can learn to work together, their figure skating dreams will be over before they begun. As they grow closer, unanticipated chemistry could change their relationship in ways they never expected.
