There are many different ways to approach plotting and I have studied and tried a bunch. Most plots, and thus outlines, follow a form of Three Act Structure and I have found that this is true for short form as well as long form.

Nyan Cat an original screenplay concept by Neko-Kitty-Cat-chan ScienceFiction: An antisocial loner teams up with a cute dog named Jake to save the earth from aliens. In the process they accidentally kill a ghost. By the end of the movie they hijack 13 trains and end up winning the admiration of their universe, living happily ever after. Think Waterworld meets Session 9.
