Cherished Charities
@avictimofthejazz (plotted starter)
“Michael?” Bonnie starts, her hesitation is noticeable in the cadence and tonality. Turquoise orbs falter to the splendid silver of her gear wrench as she turns it nervously about her weathered hands.
The brunette knows how evasive he becomes when he is pressed towards charity events for the Foundation. However, this one was close to her heart. It involved sick children. She is almost certain he’s going to shoot her down, finding every excuse to leave the way he had in the past.
Bonnie nips the soft plush of her lower-lip for scarcely a phantom of a fleeting moment before she dares continue. “I know you’re tired from your last mission but ---” Slowly she snaps her eyes upwards to fixate upon his handsome countenance. “Will you and Kitt come with me to visit some sick children for the Foundation?”
The Lady Justice Killer: Tubbs & Danno
@loudhaoleinatie (plotted starters)
Manila folders lay splayed across the breadth of Tubbs’s desk. She had been studying them for so long one black inked line melds into the next. The most perplexing feeling keeps nagging at the back of her mind. Raquel was almost certain she had seen this M.O. before. But where? The vice cop couldn’t directly place it.
Coffee and evergreen hues linger upon gruesome photos of the latest victim with Lady Justice burned into her skin. The more she spilled through Miami Metro-Dade’s archive, the more she began to suspect that the case hadn’t occurred this far South. Then it further dawns on her that the case most likely hadn’t been her own but rather one that Raphael worked. She bolts upright in her chair. Pieces of the puzzle were slowly falling into place now. While she hadn’t directly worked the case, she had sat on the bed with her elder brother pouring over the evidence. She had been acting as his humble student, absorbing any tricks of the trade that had not come naturally. For better or worse, curiosity had always gotten the better of her.
Was it possible the Lady Justice killer had made his way down to Miami after spending years dormant? There was only one genuine way to find out. She’d have to consult the other known detectives that had worked the case. At the top of the list was the name, Danny Williams. She vaguely remembered Raphael talking about him and his impeccable work ethic. Picking up the phone she places a call to the New Jersey PD. But unfortunately, she is redirected to HPD. And that in and of itself put a whole new time-zone into play. Because of the drastic difference, Tubbs finds herself waiting for a reasonable hour in which to place the call.
She twirls a pencil around in one hand as her other holds a phone up to her ear. “Detective Williams?” Tubbs pauses a moment before continuing, “I’m Detective Raquel Tubbs with Miami-Metro Dade Organized Crime Bureau. I’m working a case that might interest you.” Realizing she hadn’t given him a good enough cause to help she adds, “its about the Lady Justice killer case you worked a few years back. Do you have the time to talk?” It also dawns on her that she is probably making a lot of assumptions. For example, was he the same detective from New Jersey? Would he want to talk to someone in Miami about an old cold case? Hell, would he even be open to leaving paradise in order to help her put away a killer? But in truth, Tubbs had a hunch that he very well might lend his assistance. After all, this cold case happened to possess the remarkable potential for closure.
@luxdea
It was a day Urbosa never thought would happen. One she never would have wished for in a thousand years, one that was taking every ounce of her strength to walk through. When she'd first received word that the Queen had fallen, she knew something was terribly wrong. Entering Castletown, deep in mourning, only made it real. She wore silver, her people's traditional mourning color, but she didn't need to. She was drained, her skin dusty with grief-stricken pallor, but she managed to keep her head high and only weep when the services started. Stanna, her noble wife, remained at her side, a pillar of silent strength as she usually was.
And, as it is so often the case, even as the country mourned, the sun rose the next day. Conversations were had in hushed, harsh tones. Cultural exchanges about how much weight once symbolic gestures held, before the newly appointed King Regent and the Gerudo Chieftain reached an agreement - the first one she had ever respected Roahm for. It would be a difficult transition for the princess, but living in the desert was, ironically, the safest thing for her right now. At least until the queen's assassins were apprehended. Neither Urbosa nor Roahm wanted to speculate on how long that could take.
That was a month ago. The princess had quietly been bundled off, the king stressing that she was in deep mourning over her mother and must be protected at all costs to hand-wave her lack of public ceremonies. He would need to tell the truth at some point, but that could wait until later. For now, Urbosa did her best to care for her Goddaughter while keeping herself together.
"Little bird?" She asked quietly, knocking on the wall of Zelda's chambers. "Can I come in?"
